I have Jeep in my blood!
I really miss my Jeeps and am really considering another TJ in the future. I have had numerous Jeeps and have always enjoyed them.

    Bone stock. For now.
I love those XJ's! I had a '96 for a year and a half. Put a 3" lift on it, cut the fenders out and put 33's on it. It went everywhere I had the balls to take it!

Had a '94 XJ. Miss the solid axle front end and that's about it.

Had a 2004 Unlimited. Really liked it, but wasn't a good daily driver. Wife had an 06 Commander Limited 4x4. That was a cool Jeep.

My 87 wrangler, 4.2 liter... Sold it in 08... Should of kept it. In 2010 I saw it on Craigslist. Windows broken, hardtop cracked blown motor... Sad

Traded my '10 JK in for my '08 Taco.....best move I ever made. I loved the Jeep but it was not very functional for most of the stuff I actually do. Plus, within the first 9 months I had to have the entire transmission replaced and they could not fix the death wobble it had.

Same basic shit everybody else had 5 years ago.
I know they were not made well but man that model is almost a piece of art work in my book! I had an 82 CJ7 and an 86 Comanche with the awful 2.8 V6. Either way that Jeep you had was beautiful and classic!

I've had 3 Jeeps...CJ5, CJ7,and a TJ. The CJ5 was rough and brutal as a daily driver, lousy heat, air leaks, but very nimble on the trails. With such a short wheelbase that thing would spin quite easily. I find coil sprung Jeeps (TJ +) have the best mix of road and trail handling. If the TJ had doors, a hardtop and AC, I prolly woulda kept it

My wife has an 08 JK 2dr, 3.5" pro comp lift on 35's, custom made one of a kind front plate bumper, and hard and soft tops. Nothing special but we use to crawl it a lot back when we had more money in case parts broke. Would love to do more to it, but.....my truck comes first now, lol. Unless she wants to use her money on the JK.

Before I got the Tacoma, I drove a '96 XJ locked, lifted and geared on 33s. She was a fun truck, great crawler. But have to say I'm enjoying the Tacoma much more. Hauling hunting, fishing and camping stuff in the SUV really tore up the interior. Truck beds Rule !

I used to have a 97 TJ. It had ARB's front and rear, armor all around, winch. I wish I would have never sold the thing, but I do love my Tacoma. If the Jeep could have hauled more stuff around for weekend camping trips with my GF and dog, I would have kept it.

Seems to be the general problem with Jeeps. They're just too small. Probably a big reason they came out with the four door JK. But there's just nothing like a truck bed! If the ever brought back a Jeep Truck I'll bet that thing would sell like hotcakes!

I own both a jeep and a tacoma. The jeep is my main offroaded while the tacoma is my daily driver that will see light trail use.

I use to have a 74 cj5 with a 3 inch lift and 33s on it, and I bought my first brand new car which was a 1988 jeep Comanche 4x4. I had it for 14 years till 2002 when I bought my 4wd tacoma. I only got 1500 for the Comanche and everything was falling apart but the engine and Dana 44. Sold the 74 and used the money for a muscle car. I want to get a fj as my next vehicle but the tacoma seems like it may run forever. Just a urban wheeler mainly in colorado.

Same basic shit everybody else had 5 years ago.

My dad bought a brand new 76 CJ5 back in 75 and was just awesome for me back then as a kid, he sold it in 85 the year before I got my driver's license and broke my heart! He knew I would have killed myself or someone in it, but I really miss that thing.

My 82 CJ7 had a perfect body and interior but the 4 cyl. was a joke and I regretted buying it even though it was pristine otherwise.

My 86 Comanche was a beast and the first night I had it I bent the front axle. Got a new axle and trussed that one up and it held fine. I busted some gears in the 5 speed tranny and when I pulled it to replace it, that turned into a full engine rebuild, why, why not? We ended up putting flat top pistons in the 2.8 V6 and had to bore it 60 over. That thing was a torque monster after that and sounded like a V8 even with the stock mufflers! I finally sold it when I ran across a pristine 79 Bronco I just couldn't pass up.

    Ahhh the good ole' days!

Now, I'm 11 years almost into my 03 Tacoma and I love that I replace stuff because I want to and not because I need to!

I had a '86 CJ7 with the inline 6. Bought it in '93 and just sold it last year:( (first vehicle I bought on my own). LOVED that Jeep!! I put a 3" suspension lift on her and 33" BFG Mud Terrains a month after I got her. She was my DD for 12 years and even made a trip from VA (just outside DC)out to Vegas...lived there for summer between JR and SR year at college then drove her back to VA...and that was back in '95. I will try to dig up some pics and post them later. Now I'm day dreaming about all the good times had in that thing!
I love my tacoma and enjoy tooling around on it but will always keep a special place in my heart for Jeeps...especially the old ones!
