I couldn't get it to make the noise shifting into 2nd tonight. Don't know why

 

whoa that is odd..

if i where to guess id say the clutch isn't seated flat.

 

lol perfect. that would be just my luck. I sent trail gear an email. maybe they can tell me whats wrong

 

Or..the disc is backwards..

only things i can think of that it could be. Its not bearing.

i guess the disc could be bad or something too. i don't think my ever made that sound..course i haven't driven it in over a month

 

Im 99.95 percent sure I put the plate in correctly. Would it even function properly if it was in backwards? I have no idea. But Im pretty sure its in the right way

i do know..something ain't right..did it just start to do that or has it been doing it the whole time?

 

I pretty much backed it out of my garage, drove up the street and it started. I figured it was part of the break in period... lol

You still have the paper work from the kit? There was a trouble shooting guide and might be something in there that'll help.

i think its a crooked disc though.

Its common for the disc to get knocked down a bit during reinstallination. Sadly..either way..i don't for see this being a fun fix..haha

 

Yeah I don't either. But how could the disk get knocked down if the shaft splines go through the clutch plate? wouldn't the tip of the shaft get jammed on the plate, thus not allowing the transmission to go back in? Maybe im just way off base

 

it can get tipped i guess is what i should i have said..so like the top edge contacts before the bottom instead of the entire disk engaging at the same time.

 

Oh ok. I would have figured it was a tight enough fit over the shaft where the clutch plate didn't have room to move like that

 

It can happen..shouldn't..but does.

Paper work say anything?

 

I guess I through that paper away. I kept all the warranty and shipping info and that's it.

I have 3 papers. A order confirmation that I printed online. A shipping conformation that came in the package. And a yellow paper that says "WARNING, PLEASE READ" that discusses product applications, warranty, and returns. nothing on the back of it

 

Oh dang. Must been on the install instructions.
