Anyone know where to get a good outdoor cover -- I planned on leaving my truck in my parent's backyard for months at a time so I want the paint/exterior to be protected

Back in my lowered truck days, all the guys ran the California Car Covers. They are expensive but were the best you could buy.

    http://www.calcarcover.com

I just checked, they make them for the first gen tacomas. You'll want the Noah model (they are moisture resistant and designed for wetter climates).

Sounds good, I checked em out. Ouch you're right they are expensive. I might just go with a cheap one to get me through boot camp then I'll drive my truck down to San Diego

New found believer in plasti dip. That is some amazing stuff. Did my badges and door handles for a test run. e8yzu2u9_24a9db65aa4d06760d6c3bc0d7269fd2440200c1.jpgva8evata_ca2c0c13e0c93a418a969872e940a9ff5de73fd7.jpg
Since I am not a fan of anything shiny except the paint on my truck I am stoked to start using this on the rest of the truck.

    Dude, looks awesome!
One word of advice though is that the door handles will start to peel (from the underside) since your fingers grab that and pull back.

They'll look good for a while, it just bugged me so I bed lined em

yeah i thought about that as well so when i painted them i had them propped up so i could paint the underside as well and did 4 good coats after the initial 50% coverage tac coat. Hopefully that will take care of it, but if not i really dont care as this was the easiest paint job i have ever done, no sanding, no priming, no clear protective coat, just taped it off (free painters tape from my work even, haha) peeled off the excess and then wiped off the over spray with a mirofiber towel and it was done. so awesome!

I propped mine up to get the bottom edge and mine have been dipped for almost a year with no issues at all. Just pay attention and don't rake your fingers across the bottom

I scored an A.R.E shell in the correct color today! A nice drive up to Prescott, AZ and it was mine.

Took a load to the dump:
Coming into the dump = 5020 pounds
Leaving the dump = 4120 pounds
Total amount I was hauling = 900 pounds

This is as close to precise when comparing as I can think of with known weights and how the All-Pro Expedition leaf springs handle it:

    Before the Dump:
    IMG_2507_zpscc790f9e_9cbc21c212cee7a2600f31864481fe1557e1f427.jpg

    IMG_2509_zpsc7816f56_c6cdf2c60a236158438b87dae698679a81102793.jpg

I tried to get the exact angle again for easy comparison. I think they did pretty good for 900 pounds in the bed

Are you pretty happy with the all pro expedition leafs ? what shocks are running in the rear with those leafs ?
awesome you can lug around 900 lbs and not sack out the rear.
Lastly, how do the all pro expedition leafs ride unloaded on the road and highway ?

I am very happy with them. I'm running Bilstein 9.25" 5125s in the rear. I usually ride with the bed unloaded (will be putting the canopy back on this week sometime) but it rides a lot smoother than everyone was harping on while I was researching. I've always heard how rough of a ride the Expos are, I didn't find that to be the case though

    ;) Thank you

Plasti dipped the driver side rocker panels. I thought I'd really like it but I'm not so sure. It's kinda growing on me.

Should I do the passenger side or take it off?

I think that if you didn't have the plastidip or the black rubber pieces it would look much better.

IMO it looks better w/o the derp. the slim black molding on the PS is a nice look.

were you derping for looks? or to guard against rock chips etc ?

Just for looks. I'm gonna leave it over night then see how I feel about it tomorrow. Right now I'm leaning toward removing but we shall see

As for the molding I like it. I don't think I'll remove that.
