Tonight went amazing. The rear shaft went off like a bomb at 90, I got lucky and it didnt come through the cab, bed except the yoke nailed the wheel and cracked it. Drove flat and in FWD with the rear shaft in the bed to wally world. Fix a flat and JB Weld on the wheel got me home. Time to fix the shaft the real way. But for now...
When I get my steel I'll have
4 OD x (1/4) Wall x 3.50 ID 1020 DOM Shaft, Spicer Universals, and Strange Engineering Cromo yokes that I have kicken around from a GT500. All said and done its $300 cheaper than a new aluminum shaft that i already tore in half, cheaper than the one below and a FUCK ton stronger still want a cage.

New CSB and u-joints ordered, install in a couple weeks. Truck feels like I'm driving on a rumble strip at times so it's definitely time. Ended up buying Moog extreme strength greasable u-joints.

Didn't get the studded snows, got tread shots and they weren't exactly as described so it wasn't worth it. Looks like I'm running the H/Ts through the winter again :D

Well, I did the transaction online so there wasn't any involved BUT, here's the link :D

    www.rockauto.com

Unfortunately, Rock Auto uses flash so I can't link to the exact part but I found it in the catalog under the following:
Toyota/2007/Tacoma/4.0L/Drivetrain/Universal Joint/Moog/Precision Part No. 207 - Greasable Super Strength. They're $15/ea and, if I read the diagram correctly, should be a replacement for all of the rear driveline u-joints.

No problem, I won't have them installed until the 10th but I'll measure them to make sure they're the same as OEM. My stock ones aren't bad so I'm not expecting any change. I needed a carrier bearing and figured while I have everything apart, might as well swap the u-joints also.

Mike did you mean 270 or 207. The ones sent to me from rock auto were 270's.
I purchased these exact u joints about a month ago as spares and found that the zerk/grease fitting is flat! I had never seen that before. I will go take a pic. Tell me if you have seen the adapter I need for it.

VV Sorry, transposition error, the description was correct but it is 270, not 207.

I read something about that in the description, good to actually see it. I might thread a normal zerk fitting in so I can use my normal tip on my grease gun. Does it look like those fittings can be replaced?
