So my boss had a stroke and is having heart issues. He might need a heart transplant. He finally got his computer and he took a pic of himself with all the tubes and he says hello on fb because everyone is worried about him.

A friend of ours gets on there and says "The fish are waiting for you"

    I was like WTF!

So I got on there and yelled at the guy (as much as you can yell in capitals).

Then suddenly I realize he meant FISHING. My boss likes to fish.

I thought he meant the fish were waiting for my boss as fish food......

Holy crap BT! Hope your boss doesn't need all the upgrades they're suggesting.

Here's hoping he's on the road to recovery real soon!

I walk my dog pretty much every day. Often in the same place. Usually have a cup of coffee while we're walking.

By the end of our walk, my cup usually looks like this:
I wrote the company on the cup and was put in touch with the manager of the local cafe. He replied that he'd work to encourage their customers to be more careful (all but one cup in this picture came from one place).

Anyway, to make a long story short, it worked. It's been a couple of months and there's a lot less to pickup lately. I took a minute to send a note to the cafe manager thanking him for whatever he did.

    Just takes a minute.

You're right Ian, it doesn't take much. And if we all do a little bit, the impact would be great.

Thanks for caring, Ian. I just picked up some trash in front of the BMW dealership yesterday. So many people passed it up. Yes it was just a plastic bag and some other stuff but it didn't take a whole lot of effort for me to pick it up and throw it away.

Avoid westbound capitol city freeway between the 99 and 5. Terrible accident blocking three lanes just after the 10th ave exit.
    Drive safely in the rain!
(Oh and I'm back in Davis, now)

Any time I see coins or paper money, I do my part dutifully. :D

I agree that people are trashy. We get all the tourists, campers, etc passing through both on and off the freeway. First big weekend of the summer leaves plastic chairs, foam mattresses, etc usually in the center of the freeway. It's consistent every summer.

Then there are times like a few weeks ago. We got on the freeway and I hear my wife say something like "Thanks a lot a hole!" There were two vehicles parked on the freeway on the other side just before the off ramp. She saw a guy walk to the shoulder and throw his empty coffee cup onto the shoulder.

Riding motorcycles, I've been hit with trash before. Full on Mickey D's bag the last time.
People can be pigs. Nothing like the smokers tho.
