The cat shield that surrounds the cat was rattling - I fixed it with a hose clamp. There is another flat shield above the cat between the cat and the floor - the little screws that hold it completely rusted away so it is just flopping around. Any suggestions on how to fix it appreciated.

Same problem here dealer quoted me 225 for parts to replace. Mine are rusted so bad I could probably brake the ends off and slip the shield off.

New screws and add some washers. The shield rusted a hole bigger than the head of the screw for me. Just put some washers on it and it's good.

One of these was rattling on my truck shortly after I bought it. I got underneath to check it out and it fell right off. Other side was already gone. Both were gone on my last truck too. And I was working on my brother in law's 05 sport this week and both his are gone too. Unless you park or leave your truck idling in tall dry grass these really aren't needed.

You may be talking about the 2 part shield that surrounds the cat. I fixed mine with a big hose clamp. Now my problem is the flat shield mounted to the floor. Thanks for the reply.
