True, but sliders should be strong enough to redirect the truck and not fold up like they did.

If there is no where to redirect the energy to, the weakest link will fold.

I'd rather have the slider cave in than the frame that it is welded to bend.

If that's what happened, then I take it back, sliders aren't going to hold up against those two boulders. I wonder what would have failed if that guy had stronger sliders with more reinforcing.

Can you confirm that they are AP sliders?

I have Stubbs sliders, and I've beaten them pretty good. Haven't dented yet. Scratched a lot, and gouged a little.

I honestly would be happier the sliders bent in than my frame.

I didn't say they were but the owner did. And yes, Tom you know him.

I'd love for peeps to post up other failed sliders. I once saw a pair that literally looked like pretzels. :)

Who's sliders? I'd like to see the tight spot he was in.

Oh that was it? Sorry I didn't catch on. Unless he crammed in suuuuper hard, that doesn't make much sense. Who knows.

That truck going through those rocks made me visualize me trying to get out of my truck through the exhaust pipe.

I can see this turning into another "Shit on All-Pro" thread. Until we have the full story from the owner of the truck we can't say necessarily that anything failed. Looks to me like the slider did it's job. $300 slider destroyed $30,000 truck ok.

    I agree.

Are these the 1.75" .120" wall sliders? No matter what, it takes some severe force to bend like that regardless of the brand. I'm curious what exactly happened. Slam hard into the slider? Winched and pulled the slider into the rock?
