That was a nice looking smoker you were pulling down I4 this morning. Don't know if you heard me honk, once I realized it was you I honked. We were running late for my sons dentist appointment.

So me and Kyle are out testing the winch. I buried myself on purpose so I could try it out. Got me out without a problem. But then when I hooked up to another tree on a slight slope to respool my line, the bolt came off the end of the line (bent the eyelet back, didn't break it luckily). So, quick field fix and got it going again. I will have to take it all off and fix it properly at a later time. Right now I'm still in the process of respooling.

did you not retension the line on the drum before using it, or was there just not enough wraps on the drum?

I'm not exactly sure what happened. But after I did the recovery I hooked up to another tree for the respool with a slight slope. Put the truck in neutral and slowly let it back down to let the line out and all of the sudden the line came off. I found the bolt was loose when I got to it to try to fix it. I think that may have web the issue. I have learned that self recovery I a shit load of work. I got it all spoiled nicely and will fix the line and bolt at a later time.

I definitely understand why they say to be on a hill for respool, the one I was on wasn't the best and leveled out in a few spots from other wheelers so I had to keep tension by hand at times. Lot of work, but still happy to know I have it when I need it.

    I have a few mods
lookin forward to goin to Citrus, but Im still not too sure about making it to this Nov meet, I talked to my trainer the other day and he said he'll see what he can do to get me that leave for those couple days, Im not guaranteeing anything but I figured id put my name on that list in case I do get that leave, just have to wait and see

on another note, im most likely going to go to the Jan meet, but by then I should have all my new parts :p, the leafs, coilovers, UCAs, and I may just buy that ARB locker before then and hell I may just give myself a nice Christmas gift and get me a new front bumper ^^, I still have time to decide what I want lol

I did actually, thanks it is my favorite mod to date , my company bought it a year ago and I find every excuse in the book to take it home and play with it. Smoked a few racks of ribs Sunday and made 100 Sausages for a work function this past week.

while we're on the topic of BBQ, if you ever make it out to kansas city, you have to stop by "jack stacks". this was my meal last night. it is a single rib the size of my head. certified angus short rib. imagine a 16 oz filet mignon wrapped around a bone. had it with a side of burnt ends. i died and went to midwest heaven.

if you hit up KC more than once or stay overnight, Oaklahoma Joes is also a must. jack stacks is a nicer sit down resturaunt. OK joes is your more standard BBQ joint. if you have to do only one though.....jack stacks. hell, even their house seasoning was so good that i had to buy a bottle lol.

    Question from a somewhat NOOB

I had a poll setup on my build page (back when my truck was ugly)

It is now closed (i guess they close after such amount of time)

Is it possible to have the Poll reopened ???
