Colinb17's kinda sorta build thread - now with 4-link and long travel

new hi-lift does the job with the extra foot of height. tire is still on the ground, but another crank or two would have lifted it. no need to go too crazy in the parking lot though



some nice leaf separation at drop.



The advantage of having a smaller lift: you get a lot of drop, even with stock shock locations. cheezit box is there for refference. it was the only thing i had around





This is the place i went to do the exhause. drilling out 4 bolts was a pain in the ass. can't imagine how pissed i would have been at the end of the day if i did it without even being able to put the truck on jack stands.



Pipe Bomb fit was very nice. cleared the AP skid without issue.







had to extend the pipe that went to the muffler since i had shortened it for my last y pipe. took it to a shop down the road. makes me glad i went tot the DT y-pipe instead of having these guys do it. it took a good 10 minutes of explaining and pointing to things with the truck up on their lift for them to understand why i wanted the 2 45* bends in the pipe to raise the muffler up after the carrier bearing crossmember they turned out a quality product with nice welds, but theyobviously aren't used to off road speciffic applications.

so i went by ups and got a quote to pack and ship it. you might as well go with a brand new one. this is the exact jack, and ups had it at like $45 to send it to you. you're better off spending the $5 extra for a brand new one

Keep an eye at for Tractor supply ads. They carry the same one, except its labeled reese and sometimes they will put it on sale for $40. That is how I got mine.

 

probably get's spit out of the same factory too.

 

That is what I figured, just only identifier on those jacks is the sticker or tags they slap on them. and the first thing i did with mine was pull the tags off.

 

exactly as soo as i got it, i took off those obnoxious stickers and replaced the hardware for the foot and top jaw with some grade 8.
