Damn dude, if those were bolt on I would LOVE to buy them from you or trade my AP front bumper.

I know there are a few guys around here that have them but I don't remember if they were bolt or weld on.

Damn... I don't run trails that need those but I sure think they'd look sexy on my truck, especially with an Elite bumper coming, eventually ;)

Doesn't sound that crazy to me. Mine cost in that neighborhood. Maybe a little less. Just take how long you think it ought to take to weld each one of those plates and then do the math for $80/hour. If you can find a welder cheaper than that per hour then that will help. But most body shops and 4wheel auto parts (where I had mine put on) charge about that for labor.

I do understand the sticker shock as I often feel crestfallen after getting a part and then re-acquainting myself with how much the labor will cost. But I will say this about sliders. I don't do a ton of trail either but it sure is nice to have them to stand on when tying things to the truck or washing it or putting things into the bed etc. May be overkill for that kind of stuff (steps might be a cheaper more appropriate solution in that regard) but I sure am happy to have the protection and I am always grateful when I need a leg up and remember I can just stand on my sliders.

I have bolt on BAMF's. I went with the ease of bolt on in case I sold the truck I could sell the sliders for some cash too.

I'm sure there is some place that will do it for less. Or someone on here has to have a welder somewhere.

Yeah, at this point it would be cheaper to sell these and buy a bolt on set the next time Jerry does a group buy.

Yeah I thought about that. I was hoping to get someone who has installed sliders before. I don't know, apparently I want my cake and eat it too.

$350 is just not worth it to me, I'll sell them before I pay that much. I see Jerry charges $125 for install. So I was hoping I could get them installed for around that price.

That being said, if any members feel comfortable installing these things PM with a price please!

Maybe you can find someone to fab up some bolt on brackets and weld them to the sliders? (as though you would have bought the bolt on kit from BAMF)

Maybe PM Jerry and see if he can fab em up, and for how much. I'm sure he's worked out something like that before, or at least been asked before

Yeah that's an option. I'll wait to see if any WA members are nice enough to offer their services before I go that route.

Just my thoughts, but sliders are still the best thing I ever did to the truck. They take more abuse than any other part, stave off tons of damage (even in the parking lot), and are generally handy.

CHPTR11, you might try Ziegler's in Olympia. They did some small aluminum welding for me and it was crazy inexpensive.
Do you have any skills or items of trade? Beavis makes an excellent point.

I know there are welders around the area, but the sad fact is that we abuse them. In my own perspective, I know I don't mind fixing computers for relatives, but it can also wear me down when neighbors want me to spend all day troubleshooting their gnarly old machines for 10% of my hourly rate... this makes me think of what I'm asking others to do as well.

CHPTR- I had my BAMFs welded on by a dude in Arlington who I found on craigslist. I paid around $70. Not sure where you are located, but I can try to find his contact info again if you're interested.

Thanks man. Tallon just sent me a PM re: the slider install. I'll see what he says first as I would rather give the money to forum member.

    Thanks though.

If you can wait until around Oct 19th-ish I have a welder and can tack them on for you. I'll be up in that neck of the woods for the weekend, my house is out in Covington so you'll have to drive out to me.

Also, that's a lot for TORFAB to ask. I know a guy associated with TORFAB, I may have to punch him in the throat for a quote like that. Of course, he a bit bigger than me and it may end in tears.

Thank you for the offer, please let me know when you're back in town.

I hope my post didn't come across as negative, it was not my intention to bash TorFab. I read in another post that he installed a set of BAMF sliders on a fellow TW member and he was very happy with the install. Out of curiosity I emailed TorFab for a price quote. He said it took him about 4 hours b/c some of the legs needed to be shortened for a perfect fit. 4 hours x $79 (shop rate) = $316 + tax. The price just seemed steep to me from what I have read in other threads, hence the reason for my post in this thread.

My bolt on came all together from bamf. Some people may ask for them separate so they can change the angle
