Couldn't agree more. $5K is not a lot for a fantastic audio system. I think half of the reason I get mods is to take my truck apart and learn how I can put it together even better. Looks like you are doing much of the work yourself. I'll eagerly wait for more updates.

I wish I had the passion and time to do this type of work. Every since I had my Eclipse/Soundstream/MB Quart system from the early 90's, I've been itching for a quality setup. Keep it up, OP!

I decided to go ahead and move that airbag seat module to make room for one of my amps. I saw that it wasn't in the location to transmit but it was wired to a sensor on the seat rail that tells it where the seat is positioned. There is a marker on the side that says ( Sensing Direction <-----> ) so as long as it is faced exactly the same way it was in the first spot i think ill be fine and it will still do its job. I only moved it over about 5 inches anyway. just bolted it to the floor again. Also, I drilled out where my 0-guage is coming into the cab last night Ill try and get some pics of all that later. Wont be home tonight so the next time ill get some stuff done may be Monday.

Ok, I'll give you that... I didn't know there was a competitive sound market.. Or do you mean that it is such a competitive market ?? Or theres actual competition as to volume/clarity/wattage/ sound dick swinging contest ?? Honestly i dont know..

I love loud music of all types played thru high end quality equip. But if all anyone is going to play is that mind numbing/dull/repetitive club music "boom boom hiss hiss". shit, you guys know the one i'm talking about, sounds like some cheesy demo tape, "DAAAADOOOODAAAADOOOO" As all the windows rattle doesn't help either:D

2 octaves of bass over & over with nothing else isn't impressive regardless how much time & $$$ But other than that yeah if its loud /clear & you can make some sense of it, crank it...

It definitely won't be just that kind of set up where its all bass and music. I've grow past that and enjoy clarity and quality over bass. I'm putting two 4channel amps just to run the mids & highs and have two sets of polk components up front, one in the kick panels and other in the doors. Then the kicker front row to help adjust the timing so the staging is perfect. It will be loud yes but also clear!

Not even clarity. It's 100% dick swinging, seeing who can bust the most glass and vibrate the shit out of their sheetmetal.
Ever see a 2010 car roof stress fracture like a 50 year old Southwest 737?

Fuggin kids will have hearing test results that look like mine in 20 years....

You can have it all bass, loudness, and clarity. That's how my brother's truck is. It's set up for all types of music, and everything sounds amazing. It's fun to see the windshield flexing and all, but it's also nice to listen to some music in a way most people will never experience.

Yeah its not all about bass. My truck will be set up for all types of music. And there are actually sound quality competitions as well. It's not all about retards flexing windshields like he said.
