The other side was the one I was thinking would break cause it was ripped already

Although maybe the pass side one broke due to routing through or over a sharp edge

Actually that one went straight down. It was the drivers side that went over the sharp edge (the one you put on) but that was fine.

So I guess that creaking and cracking sound was the strap breaking. I wasn't going crazy! Haha. I shoulda changed it when I had the chance. Oh well. Minimal damage, just some scratched paint and a bruised ego

I have that same set of straps, I use them on my trailer to hold tarps down or to hold down a bulky load but I don't trust them to actually hold weight. They're decent enough for what they are. I never use ratchet straps for the motorcycle, only the pull type straps. It's too easy to apply too much pressure to the bike.

I used mine to transport my grill to PA on the back of a camper. Typically just use for bikes on the rack or runs to lowes

Middle of the strap. Looked stressed.

Plus the ratchets seize up on me pretty often. I'll look for pull straps! Thanks man

Hey I'm saying your side was ok!

At least I'm not like "can you help me install my lift?"

Plus if you ever need help, let me know! I love to lend a hand

No problem. I have a Canyon Dancer, that helps secure the bike by the clips and keep straps away from the bodywork and use these types of straps.

They don't ratchet at all. I put the bike on it's kick stand, snug down the strap on that side, then stand it up straight. Because the one side is already secure, as I stand it up, it slightly compresses the forks, then secure the other side. You don't want to over compress the forks because you'll blow your seals but you want to have enough tension on the straps so they can't loosen up. I then use a strap on either side in the back just to keep the bike facing forward. I already showed you the wheel chock I use for the front. I had to make that because the Tacoma bed is so slick, the tire would turn on me if i didn't use it.

No problem. Wish I had known (or researched more) before purchasing them as well. Oh well, live and learn.
