my driver side went bad and i never noticed unless the wheels were off the ground and were spun. just sounded like brakes dragging but it was the wheel bearings. it was toast when i replaced it.

Talked with Tim today. The day started with just the DMZ springs and hoops but decided to go with the bed cage similar to this.

Have not seen one of nicks cages, sure he makes a sick cage as well. Just wanted to stick with a fabricator I have worked with before. As soon as I recover from this bill and the ongoing house projects really thinking about getting LSK to build the front. Really like their work!

Drove my truck for the first time in 4 months today. Feels super weird after driving a little car around. Drives GREAT after the rebuild though.

    Ive had both.

The 3.4 w/ super is very nice. Without a super its alright, nothing that great with an auto but its decent enough. With a manual it can move. Im not sure about the longevity of the auto either, but it might last longer to hard abuse if you have a large enough cooler. The manuals hold up alright as long as you get the v6 version, NOT the W trans made for 4cyl. When we needed another v6 version, MANY shops and people tried to pass off the W trans as the one we needed so be careful if you try to get a manual. Still a risk of breaking a gear with manual since theres no buffer to the impacts (usually 3rd gear). Was def fun to drive with the sc just because of the sc screaming when you get on the throttle. The intake was FAR louder then the exhaust. Wiring is very easy and the engine is pretty bullet proof.

4.0 is a nightmare with the stock auto if you dont have some kind of speed sensor that can work with the computer lingo. With a manual im not sure how much wiring there is but i think the abs delete like you mentioned works very well and is easy. Still has more wiring then the 3.4. The engine is also a lot bigger. The 4.0 is VERY close to the same size as an GM LS engine due to the vvt and overhead cams. The engine is fast though and feels to be around the same power as the 3.4sc but with more bottom end power. Without a key its a little hassle. We had to jump through hoops for a few weeks to prove to toyota corporate it wasnt stolen (even though we had the junkyard receipt) so they would make us a key. When you do the wiring, make sure to hookup EVERY wire on the immobilizer. Even the door light switch. It wont work without it. I dont feel lag with the throttle by wire over the cable.
