I had to use it one time. I was driving around all day down an old mining trail with no problems at all. Once I got on to the main road (still dirt) I was coming down a steep part and stopped at an overlook to take a piss. Got back in and I couldn't shift out of Park. Flagged down a guy cuz I didn't know wtf to do since I had just bought the truck a week earlier. He drove a lexus and apparently it had the same thing. I pulled off the little cover and used my key and it shifted just fine after that. I didn't have any brake lights either after I got home though. Changed the fuse and all was good. Not sure why it blew though...

    Hasn't acted up since.

^^ that was your add sensor not your transfer case. Same part could of failed on push button. In your case your transfer case was still going into 4x your front just wasn't engaging.

Wow Ben actually knows something techincal about our trucks! haha :p

    he is right though.

Also on the push button T cases there is an electronic actuator for engaging 4lo which can also go bad.

Are those 15's? If so that 33 tire to 15 rim ratio looks killer! I may have to consider that...

only down side is you can't do the tundra brake upgrade..not a huge deal for most though.

I'm not a fan of getting out to lock them but I don't have to worry about them failing. LT is def a diff story but I plan on SAS'ing so I better get used to manual hubs
