Sounds good! I'll post up here when I know for sure my next outing will be. I am going to go out this saturday just to see how deer season looks. I have a feeling it will be packed.

What does an out of state person stationed here have to do to get a hunting license?

Anyone know of a good place to get some UCAs installed around the east bay? Whats a good labor cost for the installation? I read the DIY, and am pretty sure I'd screw it up, and I lack a few of the tools. Thanks.

    DIY!
Honestly it's really not that hard. And u don't need crazy tools to do it. For what a shop will charge you, you could probably pick up a whole cache of new tools!

I did mine, following the write up on TW and it took me a little over 4 hours total. No probs.

    You can do it!

Soo.. my truck is at the dealership until next week.

FINALLY went in for that noise the rear end has been making. Got the extended warranty issue settled and they did the initial inspection today.

They told me it's definetly the Rear diff. and there was a TSB out for it. "Howling noise at highway speeds" ( ) Although mine had been so bad that it was 'howling' at all speeds.

The service manager called me about 4 hrs after dropping it off to tell me the techs looked at it, immedietly knew it was the rear diff. but it was so loud they couldn't check anything else (wheel bearings, etc) in case they have failed too. So they asked for permission to pull the diff apart tomorrow and have the adjuster come to certify that the warranty covers it (which it better)

If all goes well, diff will be pulled apart tomorrow/friday. Adjuster should come friday, parts ordered friday. Install process should start monday or tuesday, depending on parts, and I should have my baby back by weds/thursday next week!

In the meantime... I've got a granny camry :( .. the NEW 2013... but still it's still a friggin Camry. I was able to get them to upgrade me for free so I wouldn't have to fit my 220# 6'4" self into a Toyota Yaris.

Will keep you guys updated as they call. I'm just happy it's finally getting fixed. After 3 months of trouble shooting/putting it off.

If your in need I should have most if not all the tools needed and would be willing to help, thought I won't have much free time for the next month or so. I've never done it but am mechanically inclined and do most of the work on my truck:D

Glad to see that her owners found her. Good job, and thanks for taking care of her.

You know...for some reason, when I see the name Yaris, I always have to saw YAWWWWLRUS. I don't even know the correct pronunciation of that.

Guys, I'm working my way into a dilemma. The more I do to my truck I start to think I want more of a DD with better gas mileage. I found a mini cooper that I have been wanting for a good while now(besides a Datsun 510 that is next to non-existent to find) and for a good price and in excellent condition.

The probelm lies in that I have had a good chunk of my money sitting in my garage in the form of the DMZ SUA kit and shocks that Jerry just has not had time to fab up for me (I guess my money is no good to him). I want to do something for my rear suspension, something good, but I've been starting to think that the route I had planned is a little over kill. So I come asking advice as to sell the SUA kit and shock and go something a lot less reasonable so that I can free up some money to buy what I think is an awesome deal on this Mini Cooper I have found?

I noticed that a few of you have second cars besides your truck for a DD or a project car. Is this because you don't spend all your money on your truck or so you can get better gas mileage and use your truck for hauling and play?

Thats my DD, money for the past few months have been going into her. When she's at an acceptable standard I'll go back to the Tacoma spending wise. What does that DMZ kit need fab wise? I've got a cousin who does fab work and has been asking me to post up on TW since there arent that many fabricators and alot of people who need stuff done

The old leaf hangers have to be cut off, new ones welded on. lower shock mounts removed and new ones welded on, and some sort of shock tower/ bed cage fabricated. Then it's pretty much all bolt on from there. I was thinking if I sold the SUA kit and shocks I could just go with a leaf pack and some smooth body shocks. Something that I would be able to do on my own in my drive way. But then I start to think what a waste of a front LT by doing something less on the rear.

But I mean come on, I think I would kick myself for not jumping on this while I could.

It does sound like a waste especially since you already have it. I'm going to be running the weaker rear tho eventually. I'm pretty sure he can get that all done. Let me know if you change your mind.
