not really if you think ahead you can keep yourself from doing it twice.

once mine are in i dont ever want to remove them unless i add a Maxtrac.

but then again i dont have 886's or a winch bumper so to each his own.

Adding 1/2" top plate spacers to 886x coils is dumb if you end up at well over 3" of front lift

I would agree that 2.5"-3" is optimal. It has been my experience that with plate steel armor (bumper and skid) even the 886x settle a lot. I waited a long time before I added the TP spacers to ensure the springs were settled, and at 1.5" of rake front to rear I had to address it.

without a bumper/winch/skids up front, the ride is hella stiff...the front end doesn't give on any bumps...like driving without any suspension.

with the bumper/winch/skids, it's hella smooth, a bit stiffer than stock compression but very "truck-feeling"

i'll probably have to add a top plate spacer or machine a larger trim packer as my driver side is about 1/4" lower than my passenger side. My spare is also on the driver side, so once I move the load around, I might only need a 1/8" spacer or less.

It really didn't bother me before I added the armor. But, I did keep it on the asphalt knowing the ride would be much less forgiving.

the road near my place is shit...they've been doing construction for almost 3 years and put off the paving until after its done. driving on the highway was pretty smooth without the armor, OME shocks ate up all the little bumps with ease.

I drove without armor for ~4 months so It handled ok before, and much better after ;)

Not sure if I was referring to the right part. Here is a picture of where my Dakar leafs rub on the tank

Just checked mine....no rubbing. I was flexing them pretty good the other day too. Not sure why you don't have enough clearance.

Anyone else have noisy nitrocharger sport shocks? I bought the complete OME kit from Wheelers about 5k miles ago and since first day of installing they've been noisy. I figured over time they would quiet down but that doesn't appear to be happening.

Since I spent some time here studying before buying, I'd like to say thank you and add mine to the list of OME suspended Tacomas.

Today, Tarheel 4WD in Charlotte installed a full OME suspension on my 2011 Tacoma. I'm a repeat customer now. They also installed an OME suspension on my beloved 1998 Tacoma and the difference was night and day remarkable, so I was hoping to repeat the magic on my 2011.

I didn't think the 'After' picture would look that much different than than the 'Before' picture, especially with stock tires, but apparently size matters and a couple of inches more is hard not to notice. Much better!

I need to find some level ground once it settles a bit, b/c the driver's side sits lower than the passenger side, but I'll wait a bit to see it that doesn't work itself out. Otherwise, the ride is a little better than the stock Off Road was and the cornering is much better.

On the other hand, the driveline vibration accelerating from a stop before it shifts is more noticeable and annoying than before. I just read about that in T-SB-0249-12, so a trip to the dealer might solve the problem and who knows, maybe I can talk them into a deal on some new tires to go with the lift while I'm there.

Thanks to the OP and all who posted to this thread! ARB owes you some referral $$ for selling another suspension for them.

I responded to you in the TSB thread. Don't be surprised if the dealer laughs you out of the shop when you try and get the TSB done to a lifted truck. Especially since one of the major parts they replace is the leaf springs.

Edit: Start looking into carrier bearing drop and axle shims for now. Hopefully that's all you need.

When going over speed bumps they make like a "woosh" noise.
