This issue has become a bit more noticeable within the last month.

My usual braking pattern: I don't ride the brakes to a stop rather I anticipate the stop and begin slowing down ahead of time by pressing the brake and letting go, riding it out for a couple hundred feet, then pressing the brake again, a bit harder, and then letting go to ride and then come to the complete stop.
Description: When I come to the complete stop some times I feel a light jolt as soon as I let go of the brake. It is slight, the truck doesn't lurch forward but it is very noticeable. It feels as if there is some sort of residual thrust left. I gave the shifter some attention and when that happens I notice it too sort of thrusts.
The transmission shifts smooth every time, so I don't think that is the issue, and it only happens when I come to a stop with the usual braking pattern or when I come to a stop quickly.
Is this what axle wrap feels like?

It could be some axle wrap and have you checked for excessive play in the center carrier bearing on the drive shaft?

Mines brand new with less than 2000 miles, I've been feeling a slight "surge" once I come to a stop as well, It doesn't bother me much as I've kinda gotten used to it.

I notice it most when I've just come to a complete stop and my foot is holding the brake with slight pressure. When I hold it hard, there is no surge felt.

Carrier bearing is new, less than 10k miles but I guess I should check it out. Now that I think of it, it is more like a slam or thunk type feeling and my gut says that it has something to do with the drive line, could it be slip yoke, hasn't been lubed up for a little while now. Shit I bet that's what it is, what type of grease should I be using for that? I'll start there and see what comes of it.
Thank you guys for the replies and thoughts.

Yep... sounds like axle wrap. Alot of people decribe the jolt/thud is so bad that they get out thinking they just got rear ended. Also, make sure your rear leaf spring u bolts are torqued down.

I like to use Red Line CV2, Militec 1 or Mobil 1 synthetic grease for all my grease fittings and wheel bearings, but any good brand should be fine, I grease mine every 5K when changing the engine oil.
