I'm mulling over the idea of driving the Tacoma out to Colorado in May. Any chance the snow has melted from some of the simpler trails you would do for a day trip from Denver in late April/early May? I'm going to avoid getting into anything too technical knowing the truck needs to take me 2000 miles back home at the end of the trip.

Maybe. Probably will be mixed conditions with trails starting to melt off. If we have a heavy winter you may end up doing some bashing though.

Yeah pretty much what native said. But you can most likely get a group to go for sure.

i'm going the pvc method. just get a large piece of pvc to fit and connect all the lines to that. i think there is a write up on TTORA somewhere.

    food for thought

I've never used the stuff that you wipe on with a rag. However, I do use the rainX windshield washer fluid and it seems to work pretty well.

I read in several places about how you have to keep reapplying the wipe on stuff or else things get really blurry/hazy in the rain.

I just use the washer fluid as well. Yeah you gotta up date. Or just keep yours for memories. :)

Can't wait to see what you do Down the road with another build though. I've pondered selling the runner and waiting for a while and possible building a newer runner to get the v8 or an fj. But my runner is paid off so it would be a hefty chunk of change just sitting there.

Currently, the smaller size of the old runners is really growing on me. I'm pretty sure the one I have right now will never be built up as long as I have it. The 3.0 is just too gutless for big tires and highway driving up into the mountains. I'd also consider the 3.4 and 4.0 way more reliable.

Not exactly sure what I'm going to build up at the moment. I've always wanted the 4.0, but now I'm wondering if the 3.4 will get the job done. They're cheaper to buy and have a smaller body.

I've got plenty of time to think about it. Saving for one ton axles at the moment. That's one part of the build that I'm absolutely certain of, haha.

Yeah I like my 3rd gen, but with my family and work I'm not wheeling much any more. I'd like to have more power to pull a trailer with some ATV and dirt bikes when I go camping. We shall see I'm always changing my mind. The 3rd gen with tires is not that great on the highway for long periods.

to many to list, check the build thread
Changing the oil with the allpro skid on was a little different, getting my fingers in to remove the oil pan bolt was interesting, and I've got smaller hands. Do you guys try and wipe up any spills on the upper side of the skid?
