Seriously fuck overhead welding. Rage quit and left class. If that damn machine isn't set absolutely perfect, its gonna bite you in the ass. Can't get a damn puddle to move without it tear dropping. Then if I move any faster i lose my puddle. And i got burns freaking everywhere.

My problem was that my welds weren't looking very good, I was getting frustrated, deep breath, start again, spark down the back of my shirt and into my pants. I curse, pat it out, smash the metal off the metal I tacked onto the stand with my pliers. Re tack it back on, start again, burn the skin off my arm, smash the metal off again, rage quit.

Just wait till you set yourself on fire. That's when the fun begins. To ruin the surprise; if you have a great bead flowing you are probably on fire.

I think I have a couple bald spots. Does that count?

Nope. You will know when it counts because you won't have to ask if it counts. Lol

What wire are you welding overhead with, .035 hardwire, .045 flux core? Either way weld away from you, not to you. Give that a try, it usually lays flatter and looks much better also.

Start your bead in front of you and weld away from you making circular motions moving your puddle up into the top piece of metal. If you start away and weld to you the weld for me always looks droopy where as the other way it lays nice and flat, and you dont burn your arm up.

lol Adam. sucks man. My old man was a "muffler man" for 23 years welding on the underside of cars. He always had burns on his arms and his shirts were always full of burn holes...

I've been busy with my last college class and lately the derp has over flown into here. I'd try to remove it; but I'm not ready for another week long ban again.

Ah fuck it; what do I care. Stupid shit drives me nuts; like lowered 4x4s wanting more aggressive tires.

I'm up late tonight/this morning working on macroeconomics and algebra homework and have an 8:00 class in the morning. Woo! I think there's only 5 other people left in the library.
