But if i can buy dads from him for cheap i can live with it for a while, then hack it up. (may even swap in a subie/turbo'd motor before i go a-arms).

From what I've read you just gotta have
    A. welder
    B. pipe
    C. pipe bender
    D. grinder
    E. tape measure
    F. the ability to do the work
    G. front suspension (air shocks, or CO's)

We gotta sell our street legal golf cart before we get a buggy though.

    To go to school?
We're looking at a house ~ a hour from the college i'll be going to, and i'm not sure i want to put those miles on my truck.

Yeah, i could get a car, but that's not fun off road or on a rough dirt road, and it'd be a old car with high mileage to be in the price range of a buggy.

My god... Please stop calling it pipe! You're discrediting yourself with just that.

My first car was a Meyers Manx VW... had a custom roof rack and side curtains for wet weather, too! Here it is in 1975 near El Mármol, Baja California (next to an even older 'buggy'):

I don't think driving an open frame buggy and hour anywhere but the dunes/dez would be ideal, especially in the south where weather is very temperamental. Get a bug, throw a sube motor on it with some suspension, and enjoy having a heater, windshield and top while getting 40mpg

Is that like calling 'line' on a sailboat "rope"?

    meh
We'll see what i end up doing :notsure:

i dunno, what's the difference in line and rope?

Tube is a structural thing while pipe is a mere vessel.

Pipe is for transportation fluid or gas, it's measured by its internal dimension. Tubing is for structural applications and is measured by its outside dimension.

I ain't buying a house, if i bought anything it'd be a acre of land and a small trailer, and that'd be in VA. not MS.

Not really sure how I feel about Plastidip on my truck.

Jake you should get a geo tracker 4x4, sidekick, or samurai.
Otherwise just buy a car for the freeway.

I had my bug with a warrior front end and 1x2 rear arms. It was plenty for the country. Maybe pulled 8-10 with fo. 2.0s. Tube frame car with grasshoppers, your brave. Lol even stock bugs do pretty good. Pick up a stock ifs and bolt on a Manx body. Would be a fun little beater.

I'd rather ride a dual sport as a dd than a rail. My 2 cents from a country boy.

Thinking of getting the rig rat a bike. Torn between a crf/xr 50 or putting him on a 70. He has ridden a quad for 3 years and is kinda big for his age. 5. Opinions?
