Stopped in Idaho listening for this banging noise on my friends truck. Turns out the rear diff is making some bad noises. Every couple rotations there's an ugly clunk. We decided its probably the ring gear. Driveshaft slip yoke splines also have excessive play. Were supposed to pickup a driveshaft tonight but that didnt pan out.

    Easier to pull the driveshaft!

We were in twin falls, but made it to Reno. We just talked to bobby(I think was his name), from CVT tents. He mentioned you! Regarding some annual meet that may be going down. Sounds like a blast.

Thanks man. We had all the tools to swap the did in the Reno Toyota parking lot hahaha! With two of us that knew what we were doing, it was pretty quick and painless.

And did you just pick up that CVT?? Sweet!

Yes we are talking about doing an annual CVT get together in Northern Wy for CVT owners or really anyone. Could be cool. Lots to work out still.

They overnighted that bitch to us!

Being a tech myself really helps! Both me and this guy have a lot of experience with toyotas. I'm glad they're so damn easy to work with. I'm this trip with two other ct4wd people. freeze is his forum name, and his mom & dad in the FJ.

That's not my truck with the RTT. We happened to run into bob at the grocery store haha. I'm still rocking the ground tent.

Hope you have a great trip man. I wanted to go this weekend since I'm less than 2 hours away but I gotta work :/
