    But the body is also super tall. I mean..come on. Those wheel wells are just...fugly and pointless.

    Idk. Seems the weight of the truck that the body and panels and such are mostly plastic is mostly frame and drivetrain to begin with.just seems it's just stupid designing.

    I guess I just miss when trucks where more barebones and basic. Now it's more of a statement and flashy lifestyle.

    Negative. The harder you work the less you get paid. Lowest paying job I had was day laborer digging ditches. I was the only white guy on the crew and had to represent the caucasian race. Best paying job I had was as an Intelligence Analyst. Surfed FB and TW for $100K a year, never really figured out what I was supposed to analyze.

    It applies to the current conversation of GM, modern auto design, kind of. I thought it was interesting, and I think an urban wheelin' trip to Detroit would be bad A. (also drunk surfing utube)

    I wonder how much of what companies have done to make the diesels as big as they are has to do with them knowing that probably 50% or more will be lifted 6-8" and rolling on 35's or bigger. Maybe the bigger wheel wells are to allow those city people to be able to just throw a spacer lift and 35's on there with out having to start hacking like we have to do just to fit 33's.

    Also for towing any thing I would rather a diesel. I haven't hooked my Taco up to anything to see what happens to my mileage yet, but diesels typically still have pretty high mileage even when towing. Most of what I have heard the 5.7 Tundra tows easy but you get about 8-10 mpg while towing, while the diesel will still be pulling 20 mpg towing.

    no way man. Look at usernames. Perfect example. Its on 35s or 37s and lifted..yet..the wheel wells are sky high. Plus narrow so you still have to trim them anyways. Just a pointless look.

    Im too lazy to look it up but I seem to recall that we averaged about 11 mpg with Mark's 5.7L tundra for last years trip to moab.

    Incredible vehicle for towing but not very good gas mileage.

    Regarding maintenance, as far as I know, there has been none beyond routine stuff, oil changes, etc. Its an '07 with about 60K on the ODO and its main purpose is to tow his camping trailer.

    True. More room to see shocks back in there?:notsure: haha. Would have less issues with up travel, but that probably isn't super relevant since most of them will never leave the pavement...

    I think they are rated at 9 or 10K. We were well below that. Capacity and power are not an issue. His tundra easily handled the weight and could go as fast as he wanted, even over the passes. Only mpgs would suffer. :eek:

    Shit my dad tacoma gets a bit better then that and he was towing just over 6000 I think. Was sc then too.

    Big difference. The tundra will do it off the showroom floor and do it all day long, every day without breaking a sweat. Pretty sure your dad wouldn't want to do that to his truck.

    When we pulled our big v front enclosed car hauler to the track with dads 2010 dodge 2500 cummins we got like 14mpg... and not pulling anything we got about 18. Today's diesel regulations suck, all there is to it.

    My question for you with your covered trailer dreams, is where would you tow your truck that you couldn't already drive it and get probably better mpgs anyways..
