Took delivery of a 2013 4 x 4 Double Cab in June. Noticed a whistling sound @40 MPH and above. . .shrugged it off. Don't drive the vehicle much (2007 miles) but had an inspection done today @ dealership along with oil change. Told the service writer about the whistling noise and he said he thought he had read a Toyota TB on the topic.

At the checkout, service writer said he found the TB and has ordered a new front grill which will be installed upon shipment at no charge, etc.

Any further information on this would be appreciated. Thanks, RZ

I had the same problem on my 2013 4x4 off road. There are plenty if treads with this same issue. It had to do with the seal they use on the grill assy. At high speeds it tends to bend when air hits it. What I did was to instal 1/4 drip line inside the seal, worked like a charm. You can purchase at OSH or Home Depot. I guess the drip line gives it extra strength thus avoiding seal to bend at high speeds.

No real modifications, just add ons. Extang Tuff Tonno bed cover, Toyota rubber bed mat and aluminum bed divider, 5% tint, Bilstein 5100's all the way around (1.75" setting on front)
New radiator grille weatherstrip TSB was just released for this issue I think on Nov 23, 2013. I had to road test a customer's tacoma the other day for this issue and traced it to the radiator grille weatherstripping. Don't have the TSB number, sorry.

Yes you can take it into any Toyota dealer within the first 3 years or 36k miles from date of first use which ever comes first for a warranty repair. As of yesterday the dealership I work for has several on back order and should be in stock within a few days.
