My Tacoma was stolen from my work parking lot yesterday here in AustinTx. So there should be some good parts showing up on the market in a few days. Red 4x4 extra cab SR5, 62000 miles on it. chrome bull bar on the front. custom grill, bfgoodrich tires almost new, fold back bed cover, aftermarket 1200 dollar stereo with built in back up camera. Sad to see it go. So far no leads from the cops.

yes on the insurance. $500 deductible though.
My work location just moved. Have been there 7 days!! Then this happens. Only Tacoma in the lot. I really liked the truck. I am still in shock.

I would put a post on craigslist under the rants and raves if I were you. Also would be on the lookup on the auto parts section to see if something familiar shows up.

Do you still have all of your keys? The art of modern auto theft is not like the old days of popping an ignition and joy riding. Id say either somebody has a hookup at a dealer to get keys or somebody used a tow truck. Check surveillance cameras of surrounding buildings for a shady tow truck stalking parking lots.

Damn man!! How do you think they did it? Tow truck? I've formed a habit of turning my wheels all the way left or right and locking the steering wheel when I get out. Not sure just how much it will help, but I would think it would give a tow truck a much harder time loading my Taco when it's walking sideways on them the whole time. They can't get to it from the front.

Look up youtube videos of repo men doing their jobs.

Hook it up and drag it with the wheels locked until they can get it away from the property where they can spend 30 seconds on it.
Doors and ignition, even chipped, are not a problem for a pro.

Man, I have no idea how they could do a chipped truck other than physically towing it away. I had to replace the ECM in my truck, and it takes 30 min for that to program. Sorry. Sadly my guess is it's headed to Mexico, considering you're location.

At least you had insurance. Most of the times they will pay you retail value which would mean you could get a newer truck unless it was modded. But sorry to hear that and good luck!

Sorry about your truck. Unfortunately if the thieves want a vehicle it dont matter what type of security you have they will take it. I went on a ride along with a repo buddy of mine and we took a Range Rover from a residential driveway in less that 30 seconds. Tow truck with a couple of tow dollies is all it took.

Insurance co. said they would pay me. Pay off was 5k. Deductible was 500. We will start the negation for the upgrades on Monday. I put money down on a DCSB,4x4 TRD OR w/ leather seats and the nav system today.
I agree it is probably in Mexico and hope I never see it again if it is. I had a lot of money tied up in that truck so hope the insurance co treats me right.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I got a phone call 12 years after one of my vehicles was stolen by a guy that bought a house and the car was left in the garage. The people who did this... they will pay; maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but they will pay.

    Takes us 10 minutes.
    Takes a pro 10 seconds.

Alarms, locks, and factory security features stop joy riders. They do not stop a pro.
