If your gonna run a sub and a sub amp at the least. Id get a deck with 3 pre amp outs for dedicated sub out and you can always amp the door speakers later. Which you should if you have a sub as your deck only pushes 18-20w RMS a ch and that is NOTHING haha

yea my pioneer is about 5 years. its dated too. Need a new one pretty bad.

    haha jeepers..

Cause then we end up deaf like you. Enjoy your hearing aids in 5 years! :p

Yeah... I don't think mine is as loud as the one in that vid. haha That one is that vid has to literally be deafening!

My Droid Bionic's microphone could read up to 101 db and when I had the system cranked it would stay maxed out at 101 db the entire time, so even the quiet parts of the song were 101+ db. As for how much louder it is over 101 I'm not sure nor just how accurate my phone is. haha I'd like to stick an actual db reader in there for kicks. Some good dubstep songs will make your eyesight fuzzy it bumps so hard. haha

    only one pre out put..

    5 band EQ though...

I mean, if you have no plans to get door speaker amps..which i do not recomend, it would work sure for just sub amp.

But id get one a bit better IMO..

I am a huge fan of pioneer though.

The funny thing is my hearing slightly sub par before I ever got a system and I get a hearing test every year in the Army and my hearing stayed the same right up until I went to Iraq, where I didn't listen to much music at all, let alone loud music, and my hearing tanked while I was there (not sure why, I think it was all my helicopter rides...).

Funny thing is, you'd have to either be there or have a recording device good enough to record it haha.

My buddy has a dual sub Alpine type R setup that makes your eyes water when you sit in the back seat

Whats my best choice for under $200 for sub amp.

What do you mean by door speaker amps? Are the speakers be powered by the amp?

Yea..trust me when i tell you your cellphone mic..is NOT acurate at showing levels..haha not even close.

i can almost garuntee your system is WELL over 100dB. You phone mic is not that sensitive or acurate.

Also even 101dB is killer loud. About 3mins of that and your have hearing damage..non repairable.

First..not a huge JVC fan..just me though. Pretty cheap stuff..the signal to nosie ration shows that at 80dB for CD.

but has 3 pre amp outs.

    3 band EQ..so okay.

    LPF and HPF..

lots of ways to get signal in.

Pretty decent. I know from the JVCs i have heard i don't like their sound..again..personal thing.

    Not a bad unit though.

Thanks for the honest opinion haha :D

I had a JVC in my 96 and liked it, so we'll see how well this one works.

As for the CD signal-to-noise, luckily I rarely use cd's anymore lol

    :faceplam:

Yes..helicoptors are HORRBILY loud. Probably 115-120dB..that is why.

SSL amp. Great amps for the price and sound good. Plus usually very powerful.

Your door speakers, like the stock speakers in the doors and rear body panels, are not amped. They are just wired straight to the head unit. Which does have a small amp in it..so yes, they are "amped"

BUT your door speakers i promise require more then 18-20w RMS. Probably closer to 40-60 or more if you have nice aftermarket ones. Feeding them only 18w is not good for them and is not good for the amp in your headunit. Plus you then have that little amp trying to compete with your 2-800w RMS or whatever amp powered sub..yea right..hellloooooo distortion.

yes they should. You'd have the spacer on the inside of the shackle by the leaf though.

well the Signal to nosie ratio has to do with how it processes signal at all really..so in other words, its about 10dB louder to let in nosie from grounding issues or other sources it picks up. As opposed to a unit with 90dB ratio.

So not a clear of sound usually.

    granted, most people wont notice.

It should. How wide are your leafs? Mine measure 2 1/4" i think.

Im pretty happy with the lift it gave me. Bumped the rear end up another 1" And with the canopy and rear plate bumper it sits pretty much perfect right now. Ill snap some pictures for you tomorrow

Yeah, I understand the meaning behind it. The other one that was on my list of options had 93dB I think, but it didn't have the option to play music over bluetooth.

I always have my phone plugged in when listening to music in my truck, so it's one less cable I have to worry about it.

Since this headunit has a usb input in the back, I'm going to run a usb port into my center console so I have a place next to me to charge my phone. I hate having the 2 wires I currently have going across my shifter! Haha

Plus I have a Lifeproof case, so I have to unscrew the little cap every time I plug in an aux. cord...

    JUST DID! FUCK THIS!

    images_a0c7cc78b8ecc11fd0167a5d55cce1d765d678e5.jpg

Just spend over an hour on this problem, figuring out the statement of cash flows, and getting the wrong answer, only to see at the end that I switched the years of the account balances given. So i swiched years 2012 and 13, so where i thought the balance decreased...it actually increased. so EVERYTHING IS WRONG.

I am going to just have to hit delete on the whole thing and just start over

you know that if you plug in your phone via USB to the headunit it'll play music off it too and charge it right?

    mine does..

    one cable haha

    ah yes.

Yea the headunit supplys power for the speakers via a small..TINY amp. Starves your speakers and distorts easily. Always a good idea to amp them.
