    Hey Guys -

Here is a question for you 2014 owners.

I have ordered a 2014 and the Spec sheet that I have for the TRD sport states that the TRD Sport package includes an auto dimming mirror with Temperature gauge, however the truck that the dealer had on the lot didn't have either of those.

Is this something that has changed with the 2014 now that the backup camera is in the radio display?

    Thanks!

They should maintain or enhance the technology, not deter from it.

All the 2014 I looked at on the lot had the auto dimming mirror, but the Garage door opener was not on there anymore.

It would have been hard to tell if it was a auto dimming mirror just from looking at it on the lot. Not even sure anyone makes a RV mirror that doesn't auto dim anymore. So, yes it should be. Maybe the temp & compass were turned off on the models you looked at. The truck needs to be running, or at the very least the key needs to be in the on position to see temp etc. So, if you just looked at it without a start up, it wouldn't have been displayed.

I did start the truck up and nothing showed up. There wasn't a button to change the settings on the mirror either, like the 12's and 13's had. The mirror also had the old fashioned flip nob at the bottom of the mirror.

I was also wondering that. I saw that on the press release. I don't even see it as an option on the Toyota Build page.

Was the one you looked at a TRD Sport?

Never heard of a 2nd gen TRD without that...

That sounds like a run of the mill base RV mirror, alright. Not sure what to tell you. But if you order sheet says you have the auto dim with temp/comp then it should come with it.

I have been wanting to ask this same question.

My 2014 TRD Off Road with Entune plus has the backup camera in the head unit. The mirror is NOT auto dimming.

It is a completely basic mirror with the little tab you can push down to "dim" it manually.

edit: just checked the spec sheet and nowhere on it does it mention it would have the auto-dimming mirror.

Maybe this is normal for 2014s?

That is how all of the 2014s I have looked at have been. Where is the compass and temperature gauge on your 2014?

If that is the case then Toyota essentially upgraded your stereo with 2014 Entune but took away the nice 13' model mirror setup.

No compass anywhere, however Entune Plus displays the current local weather and forecast on the main screen which is pretty cool.

The dealer just responded to my email.

They said all the TRD models should have the AutoDimming Mirror with Homelink but the one's that they have on the lot do not. He said when the service manager comes in tomorrow he will see if the wiring harness is up in the overhead trim. If it is he will see what needs to be done to get it added to the truck.

    I'll keep you posted.

^^^most all tacomas come prewired for accessories other may have...im sure you can add the mirror

the older years came with out the dimmer mirrors...05-07 from 08 on they where more common on the trucks

i dont see why they wouldnt keep something like that on something like the TRD models/Limited :notsure:

Thats what I figured. It is just interested since the Toyota build page says it is a feature the truck has, yet the all the TRD's on the lot do not have it.

They seem to like to add and delete from what I've seen. Unless I'm wrong, the 12's came with homelink, but the 13's didn't. I have a 13 DC TRD OR and have the auto dim w/ temp, but no homelink. lol, go figure.

Toyota sucks at providing correct information. Here is the TRD Off Road Package for 2013:

    TRDOffRoadPackage_zps1954ea3e_fc3212892cb5f1c2b3120443ecca0113214d269d.jpg

Does anyone have Homelink on their 2013 OR Package? My sales person said she has never seen it on any Tacoma except the Limited package.

The other thing is that when you pick "Build" on the site, it lists Entune when you select double cab. Why? It's not standard, but it implies it is. I emailed Toyota and got, "thanks."

FWIW, the new TRD OR package is $165 cheaper than the 2013; maybe auto dimming mirror with backup screen in it? My 2014 build sheet doesn't mention it either.

My '12 Sport has nav head unit w/entune, but also has auto dim mirrors w/homelink. I would think the 14's should at least have the auto dim.
