ALWAYS make sure the "FILL" plug can be removed before you drain your fluid on ANY diff, transfer case, transmission, etc. Ask me how I know.....This is great advice for life. :)

Gotta say, I prefer the looks of the Tacoma over the Hilux. But sweet tapdancing christ I want that engine!

    .
The 5100's with the stock coils from the 2011? if they are set at 1.75 they will probably be a stiff ride on the runner. I wouldn't reuse any of the stock struts, IMO, they are garbage.

Old Toyota's, Power Wagon, and a Tacoma
Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
The 5100's have the coils that came on them, they are different than the stock coils since I have those as well but I dont know any specifics on them.

The 4runner was way too stiff in the fron and had issues. Turns out it had 5100's with the OME 885 coils (found the sticker on the coil)

The 2011 tacoma had the lift put on it 3 months ago before my mom bought it, I got the trd baja suspension for it when I got it for my tacoma. Yesterday I went to put it on and its good I did, whoever put the lift on was special ed, luckilybmy mother drives like a total grandma and babies it. They put 3 inch blocks in the back, with the 2leave stock pack, and up front they put 5100's in with 2.5 inch top spacers.

I ended up putting the newer 5100's in the runner with the springs from them and it is way better. The 5100's that were I n the runner were shot, the lower control arms and upper baljoint are ok but took a beating. The upper control arm bushings were new but I took it apart and greased them anyway because the the werent tight and were squeeking.

It was a long day but I got both trucks fixed up good and they both drive great now!

Now I have a set of 3 inch blocks, stock trd sprt coil springs, stock trd offroad coils and shocks, some ruff country shocks, ruined 5100's, OME 885 coils, 2 trd offroad sway bars, a trd sport sway bar, 2.5 inch top plate spacers, 3 inch top plate spacers, and a set of fabtech long add a leafs that one is broken.. a whole bunch of junk.

We have a similar driveway... Next to my Taco sits a Silverado 2500HD Duramax/Allison, set up for heavy towing (airbags, shocks, Putnam 16k hitch, etc). We use that almost exclusively to tow a 28', 6 ton (loaded) toyhauler.. the Taco wouldn't have a prayer of towing it. The 2500 is a beast, and incredibly capable, but not nearly as comfortable, quiet, or fun to drive as the Taco. It DOES get almost the same mileage, unloaded, but since diesel is higher priced than regular gas, it's slightly more expensive to drive.

    Different tools for different jobs.

...and WHY did you have it apart? Mine looked that way while I was doing the stereo upgrade. So tell me, how many cuts do you have on your hands? I swear that Toyota has a little guy whose sole purpose is to sharpen every piece of metal and plastic under the dash/console/seats to a razor edge! I got cuts that I only realized I had when I saw the blood, or felt something sticky. So sharp, I never felt it (until later).

Slightly at full lock in reverse on the front of the wheel liner. I took off the mud flaps because I know they'll rub. Haven't tried any off roading yet.

When you get a minute, can you get a center of hub to bottom of fender measurement on the front for me? I know it will settle probably but I am just curious.
