If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Got the ARB bumper installed today, with the help of Mike (chickenmunga) and Tallon (55chevy05taco). We decided against cutting holes and making cans for the OEM fogs until I figure out something else.

The whole thing mounted up fairly easily The winch, wiring, and fairlead took the longest.
I still have to splice-in the signal lights and make a plate for the bottom, but at least it's on there and looks badass!

    Thanks

Thanks Andrew! I think so too, it was sad to take the badass hidden winch mount off, but I love this bumper. I needed the better angles up front too.

I bet it would just as good on your '13!

Gary! We were talking bout your beast yesterday, glad to hear it'll be back on the road soon. We definitely need to plan a trip soon, I want to see SAS-Quatch in person. :D

No shit man, it was crazy cheap. I wasn't really wanting a bumper, just due to the cost, but this was too good a deal to pass up!

 Thanks for the offer, but me and my saggy-balls old man truck like it just fine :D

Thanks you, thank you! It's a heavy sumbitch, MPGs will definitely take a hit but this thing is stout!

ARB is sending me the Driver's Side brace too. I just need to wire-up the signal light, but I might try to tie them into the Parking Lights as well to make them alternate with the signals. Not sure how to do that though, need to talk to some of the guys that have done it.

They dropped a total of 1.25". I will have to measure again tonight to get the finals on the front and back (since I'm sure the AAL has settled a bit too).

ARB looks good but you should probably fix all those none working lights. You where driving behind me this a.m. and I noticed a lot of bulbs out.

Lol, I wondered if that was you

I noticed that today too. not sure what the issue is, maybe because I have DRLs, but the lights will just go out. Wiring is good, ground is good, bulbs se good, they just turn off. If I use the signals or turn the headlight on/off, they come back on. Its fuckin weird. I will check into this weekend.

I think I figured out the "lights turning themselves off" situation. Couldn't find much, but as I thought, sounds like it's related to the DRLs.

    From Expedition Portal:

    "enzo 03-24-2012, 12:43 PM

Spent part of today trying to install the ARB foglights in my earlier model 2nd gen bumper- argh! I got one in and it started to rain; it was clear when I started. :( I have no idea how I'm going to get the last clip thingy (top outside) in place. I need someone with tiny hands as I'm not taking that heavy SOB back off. I'll cut the right side out tomorrow morning if it's not raining again. The lights will probably have to wait to be hooked up as I'm sure I'll be out of patience by the time I get the surround in.

I could see that being a big pain. I bought/installed my fogs when I got the bumper. I will be in the same situation soon when I try to get the turn signals out to replace the bulbs because my Tacoma has DTRLs and the amber lights get hot and then shut off. For the longest time I could not for the life of me figure out why the marker/turn signal lights in my ARB would randomly shut off and then come back on. It's going to suck out loud when I get around to doing this.
    "

I think the DRLs combined with the high-wattage ARB bulbs cause them to over-heat and turn themselves off like an overload circuit. Like I said, I can turn the headlights on/off or use the signals/hazards, and the DRLs and ARB lights will come back on.

I plan on finding some lower wattage bulbs to swap in there to see if that makes a difference. It's not a huge deal, just annoying.

If the wattage of the bulbs in the ARB is correct, wouldn't you just want a relay?
I'd try to see what solutions ARB has for this since it's factory wiring and the problem is on them.
