Added a circuit today to keep the GPS to the left and the wires out of the way. Tapped to the ACCESSORY fuse so this is a SWITCHED circuit.

    Great idea!
What is that wire you hooked up to the fuse and where can I get one?

If you can find a hard wire kit you can even do away with the need for the cig lighter outlet.

I am intending down the road to hard wire. This was an intermediate step as this is my first GPS and need for a left sided power source.

Nice writeup, been meaning to wire mine in since rigging up my a-pillar mount. Right now my cig plug is routed underneath the steering column and I keep it coiled up in the pocket next to the steering wheel until I plug it in.

Next time though please use white font, that red/orange color is hardly readable in most pics (especially the one where the font/pic is inverted) even though they are pretty self-explanatory.

Done. Was super easy to do. I left the GPS in the middle of the dash and I hid the 12v plug and outlet behind the kick plate. Just ran the wires up the door and alon the windshield. Once the sun warms up the cord it should lay almost invisible.

FYI you're not adding a circuit you're simply tapping off an existing one. Good write-up with quality pictures too.

Is there any kind of diagram for interior fuse box's unused slots? I have sr5 seem to have quite a few empty slots..

Thanks but The blank spots are not labled. That's what I am looking for.
For example 2nd row 2nd slot.

If a spot isn't labeled it's not used for your configuration and may or may not have power and it may or may not be switched power. You would have to test with a meter.

I have power 2nd row 2nd slot. I figured a v6 or trd model would be able to tell me if that particular spot is powering their differential or fog lights ect..

I have power through add a fuse. Just want to know what that spot powers.

The picture I posted is my fuse box legend. My truck is a 2007 SR5 TRD double cab long bed 4wd sport with V6. I have the factory fog lights also. As you can see on the legend that is a blank slot on my truck also. The OP has the same truck except it's a 2013 and he has a fuse in that spot. Sorry I couldn't help.

Is there a spot in the interior fuse block that is a constant power?

Was going to try a few interior mods today, but it keeps doing the off and on rain thing. And, since no garage here, I can't go out and use a meter to check each fuse for constant power. SO until the rain goes away, I'm planning out and trying to pre-wire.
    Thanks.

Zombie thread revival with a question that is, I'm sure, obvious to most of you:
If your truck has the 20A fuses for the front and rear windows (2nd row of fuses, 4th and 5th in from right), but does not have Front or Rear power windows, can you tap that circuit with a 15amp fuse for another purpose? Wiring up a dashcam that has a built-in "Add a fuse" that is 15amp.

Wanted to ask before I pull the fuses and try it.
