Here's the project for today. Been on the bucket list for about 10 yrs.
Have a HD set for when I built the garage, but wanted to have a second set.

Started to work on a church bench today. Have not made a decision on weather to use White Oak, Western Red Cedar or Teak for the wood. The bench will be outside 24X7X365.

 

Teak would be $$$. Most of those that I've seen have used white oak

 

I've looked at teak furniture and even on sale still $$$$

 

I just traded my 2000 Ford F150 on a 2013. Can't wait to take my first (born 3 days ago) Great-Grandson for a ride in a "real" truck.

All these Naval Nautical terms has this Army Pukes head rollin.

Contrary to a lot of uninformed persons the MOH was not just given to everyone in the Vietnam conflict. Recipients earned every one of them through unselfish acts of valor far above the call of duty.

 

Nice FJ.. but now you have to be NM FJ..This year or next they are going to make the last of one them ..I think the new ones will hold the $$ for a long time..Wish there was a 4 door FJ..

 

That is why I like this thread Capt. So many of us are vets and we represent all branches of the service.

Anyone know anything about the Air Force Aid Society, good or bad?

Our Rectors father passed away last week and we wanted to donate to a worthwhile charity in his memory.

He was a WW2 vet and flew bombing missions over Germany out of England. He is eligible for burial in Arlington but choose to be buried in the Veterans Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.

Capt, I had an uncle that was a navigator on a B17 out of England during WW2. He also had a Piper Cub for a while back in the 60's and 70's. At least I think it was a Piper Cub. He owned it with 2 other buddies.

 

It just seems that there's a lot of ripoffs out there that are called charities.
A few that come to my mind:

Salvation Army
Wounded Warriors ????
Society of the Cincinnati ???? (I mentioned this in prior posts; it's been around a long time)
If it were a decent amt., it might be wise to donate to several!
