Wrap electrical tape around the fishing line until it is thick enough to just fit in the bore of the prop, keeping the line itself right through the center of rotation. not precise, but it should find any large faults.

Ehh honestly you will be better off just going them unbalanced until you can get your hands on a better rig.

    10-4

i have 3 complete extra sets, so if something seems off, i have plenty of extras to just swap out until it's better.

That's a good idea, the only hard part will be identifying which one is the culprit.

i guess i'd probably take off 3, and then bump up the throttle while i hold onto the body. repeat the process with all 4 separately, and whichever one causes the most vibration is the bad apple.

That'll work for the major vibes, it'll be hard to identify the ones that effect the camera at a certain frequency though.

Put your name and phone number on the phantom so that when it has a flyaway, you can hopefully get it back...

rained most of the day, but i got some flying in later this afternoon.

still a little windy for the little guy, but man is the phantom a dream to fly. i feel like it's cheating, it's so easy.

got a 4 pistol gun case from redhead and cut the pads out for the 1SQ and all that it requires. also have a case on the way for the phantom, since i quickly realized it's kind of obnoxious to carry around. with a remote, couple batteries, and a handful of extra rotors lol

new paint job turned out well and made the phantom really easy to see against the white sky. also put t black rotors on it to help keep track of it's orientation.

had to match the remote too of course

what are you cutting your foam with? my cuts aren't nearly that clean.

i was hoping to get a rifle case for the phantom, but with the landing skids on, it's hard to find one deep enough. ended up going with a pelican knockoff style deeper case.

LOL.. I wish I could cut foam that straight too... :D.

It's pick n pluck foam, so it's easy to make the cutout look decent.

ARB lockers and 4.88s front and rear, OME 886s, Dakars, etc., Safari Snorkel, 17"Fuel Revolvers w/ 35x12.50r17 KM2s, fenders cut 3" all around, Pioneer AVH-P4400BH w/ Backup cam, CB/PA (PA Installed), Weathertech Digis, Foglight anytime, AP: front bumper, skids, and pack rack, custom sliders, Warn 9.5XP, dual VIAIR 480Cs with a 2.5gal tank, OTRATTW switches galore, URD y-pipe, RCI skids, LF 240s, etc.
You can get foam cutters at craft stores for cheap...or make them yourself for cheaper. Just 2 D batteries and a piece of thin gauge wire. String it all together and the wire will be sufficiently hot to cut foam nicely

lol, should have just claimed to be that good :p
the pelican case for my laptop has the little pre-cut squares. it's nice stuff.

hmm, no wire laying around, but i do have some 12 gauge automotive wire in the truck. i could just cut that open and take out a single strand. i do also have an exacto knife insert for my soldering iron, not that you mention heat......

gopro should be arriving from florida tomorrow, but i got a picture today with the little guy. this is pretty much the height limit on it. any higher and you can't see it anymore. and with no gps/autoreturn, you're on your own to bring it back home.

went for a night flight with the phantom. extremely fun at night, and almost easier with the visibility of the LEDs. I imagine it attracts a lot of attention though, so i made sure to keep it away from busy streets.
