Ok so i got a deck plate and installed it per what ive read up on here. Pretty simple, take out air box, cut out hole, slap in deckplate, reinstall airbox, and reconnect everything. I turned on the truck and the check engine light stayed on. I did forget to reconnect the airflow sensor when i turned it on first and it shut off, stupid i know. but i reconnected it and started it up again and it runs fine but engine light still on. Anyone got any ideas as to why its still on could i have jacked something up, help guys, thanks.

Your fine. Take it to an Auto Zone and have the code cleared.

Did you use some sensor safe sealant for the deckplate? If not, the fumes from the sealant may have caused the MAF to get a bad reading thus giving you a CEL.

It's probably because you disconnected the MAF sensor. You don't have to disconnect it to install the deck plate mod.

Disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes and see if that helps.

    If that doesn't help, a trip to Autozone/Dealer to pull/clear the code/s.
