I try to take the tacoma out less to because of gas, but at the same time not having a garage makes me feel uncomfortable about leaving it in one place.

I was in Santa Cruz over the weekend. Anyone see my truck driving around? I think the only person I know down there is Robert? the 4 runner guy but I didn't see his rig. Saw a couple nice Tacoma's but nothing real fancy.

Hahahaha, I just got an email from Toyota about their "All-New" "Ask an Owner" community site that lets Tacoma truck owners talk to other Tacoma owners.

In less than 30 minutes, the site went down, probably due to the influx of owners overloading the site, either that or a lot of questions making Toyota look bad.

However, during that time I saw many owners asking questions about new trucks like whether or not it's normal to smell anti-freeze/engine coolant on a truck w/ 4000 miles because the Dealer said it was OK.

It's nice to see owners in other parts of the States are getting equally boned by dealers.

Toyota should just refer everyone here, this site has far more information that anywhere else on the web.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ukdkgLYYbw

It was from this weekend IIRC.

Several guys provoked the Range Rover, he was in there w/ his wife and young daughter.

Here's the sequence from the youtube video:

0:25 the guy who brake checks the range rover gets knocked down
0:44 is when people start trying to open the range rover's doors and smack on the windows and stuff
0:50 is when he tries to get away

    the rest is pretty self-explanatory.

Everyone is in the wrong. The bikers took up all the lanes everywhere, the Rover should have just stopped and let them all pass, the bikers are being fucking idiots for jamming things up like that and then getting mad when the Rover collides with a bike? I will give proper following space to bikers but when I get brake-checked, wtf do you think is gonna happen? If he had slammed on his brakes to avoid the brake-check, someone would have slid into him and you would have had the same exact result, it's a lose-lose. The Rover should have stopped before all of this happened, those bikers had no business surrounding the Rover in the beginning, if I had a wife and baby in the car I would have had to do the same thing to protect them. Futhermore, the only thing those bikers should have done after that was to follow the Rover at a safe distance and call the police to stop him. They had no business attacking the guy further, again, if it had been me and I feared for the lives of my family, your bike and body is no match for my truck. Right or wrong it's a split decision and I will use the truck to get away, if you block me and you are intent on stopping me so your buddies can attack me, too bad dude, you're bumper meat.

Basically not slow down and not pull to the side. When groups go on a ride, they get pissed off at everybody who doesn't give way.

Of course, when the folks who get pissed off in the front, one rider will signal a driver to slow down or move to the side. The driver looks to the side for a clear spot to move out of the way, and you have other riders rolling in into the slow lane. The guy in the vehicle can't do anything but wait, but the guy next to the guy signaling gets impatient and will brake check or something and then the guy will hit them and to the squids, it's clearly the driver's fault because he wasn't keeping a safe distance from the rest of the squids.

In situations like these, riders clearly show that aggression rises quickly in a situation that needs more awareness.

There's a reason driving in Europe works better in cramped highways than the USA. People in Europe pass on the left only, if you pass on the right for reasons other than traffic or an obstacle blocking the rode, you get fined.

Even if he had just come to a complete stop in the beginning, they still would have been pissed at him for stopping. It was destined to fail from the start.

If some asshole shattered my window with his helmet with my kid in the car, any clear direction that doesn't involve hitting cars is the way I'm going, slam it in reverse and floor it. I ain't waitin around to see what you want to do once you get inside my vehicle. If you get that far getting four center-massed is the next option.

Every single one of those idiot riders would have done the same thing had they been in the same situation. People just need to learn when to take the blame instead of pointing fingers.

The cops have a mess to figure out, on one hand you could say the riders en-masse caused an unsafe traffic condition which made a collision nearly unavoidable and you could definitely site the Rover for continuing to drive in a situation that was clearly unsafe. Once the collision occurred, the riders took it upon themselves to attack the Rover, they are now assaulting the car and threatening it occupants, the Rover driver now has to protect his family as he could rightly say he is now in fear for the lives of him and his family. I would then say he is justified for running over the bikes and riders to try to get to safety. At that point now that he is getting to safety, any further attacks upon him, his family or the vehicle is clearly assault and illegal, there is no way by that video that any of those assholes could say they were trying to affect a citizen's arrest, they clearly wanted nothing more than to fuck him up, again the Rover would have been in his rights to hit whoever to get away. He should have driven to a police station and they should have only followed him.

    enough to go over stuff
After watching the video and reading the article. The driver was in the right. The biker brake checked him and got hit. That happens. Then they surround his car. Then he takes off because he feels threatened. I would too and per the article no one was hurt when he did that. Then he gets chased. If I were him I'd be on the phone with the cops while driving to the police station. This sucks for all the nice bikers out there and just promotes a stereotype.

The sad thing is some guy got run over for his stupidity. I'll be there's more to it than what we see in the video too.

My guess is the rover was perceived to have done something. Cue angry mob. Driver fears for his (and his family's) safety. Tries to flee and it just gets worse. Cue angry mob.

I don't think it is good for anyone and I hope that video gets used to arrest all of those responsible.

Bikers got what they deserved. Fuck that guy who brake checked him. He endangered his fellow riders in back of the Rover by doing that.
