    TRD Supercharger kit
Hi guys, first post here, looking for some recommendations. My folks have a 2010 Tacoma SR5 Access cab with the sport package (Bilstein shocks etc), 6 speed in silver. Its their 3rd Toyota truck; the first being a 1993 Toyota truck, 5 speed 3.0 4x4 (had back bench seats, dark silver. They put 30k miles on it in less than 3 months; we had it till they traded it in 2006 for a silver '07 Tacoma SR5 Access cab 6 speed).

Anyways, they had the TRD supercharger installed at a dealership i think two years back, its an awesome machine, and their favorite vehicle to drive, even though its their work vehicle. They've done a lot for me, and i want to pay them back in a way they will appreciate everyday; their Tacoma.

Im pretty familiar with cars and performance, but they prefer OEM or damn near OEM stuff for their cars, so im looking for suggestions on some upgrades for their Tacoma, specifically an intake (CAI preferably), TRD short shifter, and a cat-back exhaust, also TRD if available, but i want to be sure it will be a noticeable gain. No one likes throwing money away.

I searched a bit on here an elsewhere, and couldnt find any comprehensive info and real reviews; id like to hear what everyone who DD's their Taco has to say.

I also looked into aluminum pulleys and aluminum driveshafts, but didnt find much of anything; i know with my 300ZX twin turbo they made a crazy big difference, and their Taco revs a bit slow (IMO), and not exactly sure if they would actually go with pulleys or a driveshaft, which leads me back to I/E, short shifter and maybe aluminum pulleys.

    Thanks for any info/links!

You could put a smaller pulley on from URD that looks OEM. That would give you the best performance increase of everything you listed.

The intake and exhaust won't make that much of a difference. The truck will sound a little different but no noticeable change in performance.

get a fuel pump upgrade from dezod or URD.

intakes..... AFE stage2 Si will work and will not require any driving changes/hassles..... The URD will need modification to work with the intercooler, and doesnt like rain/water.

Headers, Y pipe, and a decent 3" exhaust WILL make a difference.

    headers= try doug thorley

y pipe= try URD (stainless steel)

exhaust= well, u can chance URD, but theres a few of us who couldnt fit a spare tire where it belongs with the URD system... I ended up having to work with a welder and having it chopped, and rewelded.

u may be able to find NST pullies but Im not 100% sure on that

Keep emission in mind if u want headers........ long tubes delete the front cats, shorties dont but require welding the old cats on.

dont waste ur money on "TRD" anything.......... its just a stamp, they dont make anything.

the old "TRD" intakes were made by AFE, the new ones are made by K&N and causes check engine lights for some.

TRD exhausts are just Bosal i belive

URD has a short shifter I think

ur paying a premium for a product stamped "trd" and that is all.

    ^^^ Well stated.

Also OP, there are links in my sig. The F/I link would benefit you most. Contains dynos from just the s/c, to as many mods as one can throw at it. And you can see the gains to be had with those mods.
