There's a difference between the vehicle being manufactured without a safety device, and removing one and saying that there's no difference.

Prior to 1966, very few vehicles had seatbelts. That doesn't mean it's legal or "safe enough" to remove them from a '68.

 

Still isn't going to cover you if there's an accident and the insurance company declines to cover. The family of your passenger will own your paycheck for the next 50 years.

 

Even if his fault, he would not be any more responsible for medical on the occupants of another vehicle.

OTOH, if not his fault, the other party's insurance company could easily use it as a reason to refuse to pay for his injuries.

It's a factory safety device and there isn't a shop on the planet that will touch it. If they do and it malfunctions, you'd own their business.

Find some '09+ buckets and sell me yours cheap like you do your lifts for your buddies

The connectors are not directly compatible, but you can transfer the airbag computer from your bench and make them work.
I've seen a writeup on it either here or t-nation.

And I'm just swagging '09... might be '10 the side bags were added. For best chance at compatibility, you'd want '11, but I really think you're good with anything prior to '12.

Got keys to new storage unit this morning and finally cleared out the bed, 100% empty. No clue on weight, probably minimum of 300 lbs back there consistently for 4 months.

Truck feels so much better, every little bump would jerk the steering wheel enormously... thought I had screwed up suspension components. Reclaiming a little power was nice too

 

I have a question about suspensions. I just bought a 2008 Taco reg cab 4x4 manual, has about 85,000 miles. Its rides incredibly ruff and bouncy, dip and dives when shifting and braking. Is this a worn out shocks problem or do do the Reg cabs just ride like a crazy dune buggy??

 

Where can I find some dt headers for cheap?

 

They ride a little sitffer yes,

IIRC there is no difference in the springs front or rear from an RC to an AC so when you put a certain suspension under a lighter vehicle the result is a harsher ride, :-( I am just guessing here, as every DC I have test drove rode better for sure.

It isn't to bad but I know if you load about 500+ pounds in the bed, it rides a whole lot better, hahaha

The roof took about two cans, I'm very surprised on how smooth it came out. The problem with our roof is that is angled so the plastidip might run a little bit. when it was wet it was very noticable but after it dried you would hardly see it. But I'm still getting used to it, I like the look so I'll keep it.

 

Any Suspension upgrades that i can get that will make it handle better on the road?

 

i want it to feel like i am Not going to roll off the road when i make a turn

 

I actually asked toyota about the sway bar when i was getting work done and they said it was installed and operating correctly....So i feel that my shocks might be just blown out but seems kinda early for 85,000
