390 thats a hell of a price! Katzkins are so much more, those look nice and are rather cheap. Think they'll be cold in the mornings though?

I must know how well this works...more importantly, how quickly it flows. Also, will the valve stay closed until I release it? And how far does it stick out once installed. I MUST KNOW!!!

ive watched a couple video's on the fumoto oil drain valves and it seems to drain pretty well, i would warm up the oil slightly by running the engine or taking it around the block before changing the oil but it seems to flow just fine.

Mine will be safely tucked up inside my AllPro IFS skid plate so I will have a small section of hose to slide onto the drain nipple, drain the oil and then pull the hose back off. I shouldn't have to worry about it getting knocked open accidentally unless a tree limb or something goes up in between my skid plate and the oil pan where the fumoto lives.

this image is not of the exact model i ordered, our trucks use the F-103N

hmmm...I don't have an IFS skid but was probably going to get one somewhere down the road. Guess I'll just have to pull the trigger on this and see how it goes.

    Thanks for the info!

id say if you were going to do a lot of wheeling you might want to be cautious and not sheer it off on a rock but it should work just fine for normal daily driving without a skid plate. People are buying a metal hose clamp to put around the open/close knob so that it cant accidentally come open on you. For 26 bucks and free shipping from Amazon its well worth it for me. Now i dont have to squeeze my fingers in the skid plate hole and try and be very quick when removing the oil pan bolt, which is also very messy when the oil runs down your arm and all over the top of the skid plate.

    NO MORE OF THAT! :)

If you don't have a skid, get the one without the hose nipple (F-103, as opposed to the F-103N), it'll give you extra clearance, but the entire valve does tuck nicely above and behind the crossmember, so it is safe from a direct frontal strike (on the 2.7, I'm not familiar with the 4.0 position).

It does drain a bit slowly, but it's not bad. I use the drain time to check my filters, fluids, tire pressure, clean the glass, sweep out the cab, etc....

The lever locks in place. You have to lift it before it will rotate.
