Theres alot of civilian and military contractors that are still working. The ones that work with me have already been paid up front from last years budget to finish the job.
That sucks though for those that arnt in a current contract or are just day to day guys. Maybe congress should get furloughed to persuade them to come to an agreement on time in the future.

    Nothing ever affects them.

I think it's time for 1 term limit, shorter sessions and 1/4 the pay with no benefits-in other words, they should keep their day jobs. Oh, nuke all the pensions they have accumulated-most of them are wealthy enough as it is.

So pretty sure my waterpump is leaking.
Mentioned it during the weekend but id like to form a game plan on how to tackle this.

Anyone have any experience replacing a waterpump?

And its leaking from behind the spot the thermostat sits in, right where its mated to the block.
How much of a PITA is it going to be to remove?

I took off the 3 nuts holding it in place, atleast i think they are the correct nuts but it wouldnt budge.

Dont have access to my truck right now since im in CentralCa but ill have access to it this weekend.

Well I didn't buy it yet, and now it sounds like I might not. Yesterday when I was looking at it I could have sworn the owner said something like $4200 but today when I went back and asked another guy in the shop had to call the owner and he was saying $4999. The 42 is what made me really consider it because it is originally a $6000 bike with top end components, and a carbon frame. I'm going to go back another day and hopefully talk to the owner again in person and see what we can come to. It is a Pivot Mach429 Carbon, SUPER nice bike but if I couldn't get it down to closer 42 I don't think I would get it and just go with an aluminum frame from Trek, Specialized or someone else around the $1500-2000 range.
I was talking with my dad the other day backpacking and he had mentioned that places over seas like China or Japan or somewhere over there (I'm pretty sure Japan) has a law that where CEOs and high up people like that can only make a certain percentage of their workers (or if they implemented it in the US for congress the national average pay).

Don't you have to remove the timing belt? I think that's the only tricky part. I don't know enough about your engine to know where your leak is from your description, but when my water pump leaked I would have had to take the timing belt off, which would have involved replacing the belts and pulleys and torques that were way more massive than I could handle so I just waited until I got to my mechanic. Was a pretty expensive repair, though.
Kalieaire helped me out by giving me lots of information, though, he might be able to help you, too.

Gettin my truck back tomorrow. Been at the dealership, getting new pinion bearings and differential. Warranty covered it all! :woot:

All I paid was $50 bucks for the additional 2 days past the 5 day coverage of a rental car. Not too bad.

I got my check engine light fixed too! Evap canister on the fuel tank needed to be replaced as I had found out in another thread. It only cost me $50 too the rest was under warranty.

You running in the next election? You've got my vote!

I could go on and on and on....must stop myself!

Water pump is a bitch, you have to remove all the drive belts/timing belt. I just did mine, it took me a long time but I took my time and did some cleaning etc while I was in there. If you want some help let me know, it's much easier with two people, well I guess it would be, I did it by myself and I already made all the mistakes:D

My neighbor went though that. Never heard him cuss so much before. I was passing by walking my dog when he stopped me just so he can vent. He thought it was going to be an easy task but discovered you have to do so much just to get to it. He showed me everything that he had to do and was super frustrated. Took him half the afternoon and then he had to continue the next day.
