    getting there....
after some extensive research by myself and my father in law, we have found out...almost to a t......about one of the few guns i got from my dad's estate. it is a musket.....1852 tower enfield confederate....more than likely 75 caliber, and as it seems...pretty damn rare. anyone know of any online places to get gun appraisals, or do any of you know any about old guns such as this? it'd be interesting to find out more about it.

Confederate imported English Tower Enfield rifled musket, .577 caliber, exceptionally brown example with clear maker and inspector marks in wood and metal. Complete throughout with rare Sinclair Hamilton importer mark as well as the Isaac Campbell proof cartouche. Early 1862 blockade run item!

The tower version came in a 2 band and a 3 band. I havent found any info on a version without bands yet. This is the 39" version and not the short 24" correct

Maybe go onto this forum and ask some questions about the no band version. Some of these collectors should have some input for you.

the gun is at my father in laws house right now, but im thinking its even a bit longer than 30 inches...this gun is long and heavy as hell.....and 75 caliber......huge rounds.. i'll have to go over there and get some pics of it. im also gonna email the guy at antiques roadshow and see what he has to say. im not really worried about its cash value, other than insurance reasons, cause i dont plan on selling it.i just kinda wanna know/find out the history.

i also got a old double barrel 20 gauge, made by lepage a liege, and it has carving/scribing designs all over it. looks cool, so i plan on finding out about it too.
