id say if you were going to do a lot of wheeling you might want to be cautious and not sheer it off on a rock but it should work just fine for normal daily driving without a skid plate. People are buying a metal hose clamp to put around the open/close knob so that it cant accidentally come open on you. For 26 bucks and free shipping from Amazon its well worth it for me. Now i dont have to squeeze my fingers in the skid plate hole and try and be very quick when removing the oil pan bolt, which is also very messy when the oil runs down your arm and all over the top of the skid plate.

    NO MORE OF THAT! :)

If you don't have a skid, get the one without the hose nipple (F-103, as opposed to the F-103N), it'll give you extra clearance, but the entire valve does tuck nicely above and behind the crossmember, so it is safe from a direct frontal strike (on the 2.7, I'm not familiar with the 4.0 position).

It does drain a bit slowly, but it's not bad. I use the drain time to check my filters, fluids, tire pressure, clean the glass, sweep out the cab, etc....

The lever locks in place. You have to lift it before it will rotate.

Can't run it on my wife's Rav4 due to low ground clearance, so she has the Fram Sure-Drain.
I don't care for it because it's another part to get misplaced in the garage, but it is still a nice tool-less drain (unless you count the barb as a "tool").

Painted up the bed bolts, in the taco. Cleaned out the toolbox for my 97 Z71 and put it back on. It's been off a while now due to needing the bed space a while back. Doing a few prep things for it here and there, since I will be handing the keys over to my daughter in Dec.

    Stock for now...
Those Fumoto valves are great - one nice thing is being able to control the flow rate since it's just basically a ball valve . My old Cruiser holds 8qts and due to it's huge plug the oil shoots out hard enough to paint the whole driveway and overflow the oil pan's center hole easily . Great product !
