I have the Method Double Standard 17" with 6" ProComp - The tie rod ends scrape the powder - ever so slightly...

4WP is terrible customer service, and over priced douschs. well i cant say all stores are. but the customer service and prices at my local store, are outrageous. they only want rich people who have the shop do all the work on their truck. they want the people who just pay a ton and have a bolt on 8in DB lift and some Kings on Bro dozer XD wheels with some low pro mud terrains. its annoying everytime i go in there and they treat u like shit. make u wait forever, rape ur wallet, and tell u false information cause there to lazy to go and see if it will actually work or not..

sorry for the vent, but ive had enough of 4WP. they wont see another penny from me

Wanted to chime in on 4WP parts as well, I bought my Method wheels from them and they were pretty adamant them not fitting and just told them to pretty much just take my money before I walk out of the door. Guess what, they fit perfect.

I have the standard in a 16X8. They fit just like the double standard but I have run into issues with the weights used to balance hitting the calipers. Just had to readjust the weights which is kinda a PITA but I wanted the 16s for more rubber and the 16s are cheaper than 17s.

    Simple solution, use stick-on weights.

I know these are older posts, but Skully I'd like to reply to you: I am having the exact same problem where the caliper hits the balancing weights, causing me to find the weights lying in my driveway...nice.

You mentioned re-positioning your weights, and I'm wondering how you did that? I used the stick on weights, and live in AZ where in the summer it is ridiculous hot, so the glue sticky crap used probably doesn't hold too well.

I decided to get a different wheel with the same specs (purchasing soon) and I assume when they mount and balance that the same weights will be used.

My truck is an '06 TRD off road double cab 4x4 by the way.

    Thank you!

I live in Texas and I and it gets almost as hot here as it does in AZ and I've never had a problem with stick on weights... Ever.

I have raceline 16" wheels and we just put the balance weights to the inside of the wheel or the inner edge.balanced fine both times.and 4WP is kinda iffy at some stores.although that Adler guy is pretty cool, met him at a trade show one time.

I only repositioned them the first time I heard the clicking....I just used some double sided adhesive tape that is used to hold body molding on. I think 3M makes some but most automotive shops sell it. You can see marks on the weights where the caliper was hitting and I just moved them over a 1/4" or what ever it would take. I had no problems with them moving or coming off. After that I just made sure to let the guys know about the problem before they balanced them and have had no issues since....at least 5 or 6 balancing and rotations.

Absolutely. I had these on my 2012 Tacoma for a while with no issues. I have 255/85 tires on them and have rubbing issues at the flares, so I put the Konig Countersteer wheels (same size, same offset) back on with 265/75 Duratrac tires. If I get anxious to run the tall & skinny tires I will try som trimming, or alignment, or try a 16x7 OEM wheel. But the wheels are not an issue on my SR5 Access Cab 4x4.

I was scared for a second as I searched for "16 double standards tacoma" and the first thing to pop up was this thread. I have the wheels and tires at the shop waiting to be mounted and balanced. Hopefully the weights won't be an issue.
