Hey everyone. My first time writing on here. Ok I'm really in need of help so I have a '12 x-runner with 30k miles my issue is I recently bought new 22" wheels and the right rear wheel sticks out of fender by 3". All offsets are the same. Body shop says its the rear end is shifted . But dealer says it body/ bed. They even in bolted and shifted to the right but didn't fix. Now there telling me its a common issue..... is it or are they blowing smoke up my @$$ any help please

Usually the rear end sticks out further then the front. Thats normal. It would be shifted if one side was further out then the other. To correct the issue. Throw some wheel spacers up front. Hope this helps.

sounds like they are blowing smoke to me,,, if this was "common" more people on here would be commenting on it... i would contact toyota customer care and fill them in. then let them talk to the dealer and basically tell them you arent happy with your vehicle being its so new... they will have to respond or get you a new one...

Finally blew the motor at 230,000, sprung for a Jasper with 100,000/3 year warranty. The birdpig has a new set of wings! If your axle is shifted to one side you should see an obvious angle of your driveshaft and your shocks/leaf springs. You would know if you hit something hard enough to shift your axle. The opposite wheel would be equally displaced inward as the side that sticks out. If you bought from a dealer it should get handled free of charge. If you bought it used, you might be screwed. Maybe a bent frame. If the axle is aligned, and only one wheel is out of place, it must be the wheel.

Oh by the way did I mention that the Toyota body shop that the dealer had sent me to said there was nothing wrong with body/bed and if they were to loosen and shift bed it would be mis aligned from cab. And to go back to the dealer and have them raise truck support rear end, loosen shackles and everything. Then shit it to the left and retighten and align.

Take it to an alignment shop. They'll tell you if your thrust is out.

so is this a common thing? also why is toyota dealer not wanting to fix or take care of my issue. the service manager said there is nothing else they can do. a lot of trucks have this issue, i just notice it more because its a nice clean show truck and its lowered(truck is still all factory)if i drove a normal work truck id never even realize. REALLY!!!!!!!!!

Just walked outside at work to look at mine. I've never noticed it before but mine does the same thing. I wouldn't say it's a whole lot, maybe an inch or so.

So I'm not alone on this issue. Any thoughts on why its doing this. Even the guy at the body shop told me just look at ur rear stabilizer bar links those are both being pulled to the right. I'm just worried it will cause damage?

Did you look closely at your leaf springs, if one of the "control" or "safety" pins has sheared inside the leaf pack it shifts to one side,

I've seen it before but usually on larger trucks,

No. Thanks I'll check that out. But of that's the case on a truck with 30k I'm going to be pissed.
