    this is true.. i have a D60 and a 14B so for me im want whats stronger.. I know what tire size im running the weight of my rig and how i wheel so id rather drag that bad boy over stuff and not break.. oh that and i have spare shafts for the 14Bolt.

    I'm bigger and heavier. For the miniscule strength difference between the two, I will take the lighter axle with more ground clearance anyday.

    IMHO:

    The only thing superior about the 14b is the ease of gear setup and maybe initial cost.

    Idgaf about the extra pinion bearing. The 35 spline shafts are the same size and strength.

    If you're taking out R&P in a 60 your gears were set up like shit to begin with. You should be popping shafts first with either axle.

    Unless your trying to pull someone out in reverse the extra pinion bearing isn't an advantage since the D60 carrier doesn't deflect enough to cause a failure at the torque the shafts break unless you're on the coast side of the gears.

    Proper use of equipment is paramount in all of life.


    Either way for a truck on tons there really is no difference between a 14B and a D60.

    The key is lets keep this thread about the facts when it comes to the difference in axles, and why we are running what we are.

    I am running a D60 bc I couldn't have touched a junkyard 14B for what I got a D60 with disc brakes, 4.56 gears and a trac-loc for.

    Sounds like you are sticking with a 14B bc you already have the spares.

    Yup im in agreance with you. A lot of why Im also sticking with the 14B because of the extra weight i want more unsprug weight, and ive seen the 14b hold up better my buddy's mud trucks on 44's with 600+ horse even ford guys were swaping to the 14B. then again that's mud so tit for tat it's a personal preferance. im not nocking the D60 at all.

    Mine is a 2000 24Valve Paid $7700 for it..

    Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.

    I agree on recentered h1's OR stauns, why the hell would you run both?

    h1's have rubber/pvc insert and are already double beadlocks (or a rubber/metal alloy runflat option too)

    stauns can be used in any wheel and are also a double beadlock.

    Running them together adds complexity and loses some of the reliability of either one. Its also far from cheap.

    stauns, or h1's are relatively cheap on thier own. but together they would cost more or as much as a regular set of beadlocks wheels

    Personaly i dont see the point in the complexity of stauns ive run as low as 2 psi (that was in the snow) and never lost an inboard bead with bead locks.. Im just gonna buy Spider locks cuz ive already had a set and loved them...

    I dont know if im sold on the stauns myself, but they are cool.

    The recentered h1's are cool, and are not really any more than a normal set of beadlocks, but they are heavier.

    I have never been able to afford them for my play truck so im still planning on h1's for the future. i think they will fit my needs and outlast the stauns.

    I was just trying to clear up the posting i replied to, i have no idea why someone would invest in stauns and h1's.. to me it would be like buying beadlocks for yout foam filled skidder tires... pointless and a waste of money

    I was told that there were many complications to the stauns and even though the idea of them is really good they are prone to failure either due to poor set up or rim/ tire side wall flex.. that is coming from the boys at M40 in MOAB
