Lift/ tire size advice

I have a two inch lift, with 31 s and I want to go up to a 4 with 33s. But, every male I've talked to about it says it will ruin the handling and resale value. Any knowledgeable friends out there that can tell me really if I should or shouldn't? Thanks!

 

handling maybe resale value maybe. its YOUR truck do what YOU want and let the haters hate theres plenty of people here that run 3" with 33's so i dont see why you can go 4" with 33

 

It will hurt your resale value, and your market size. Just about any after stock addon to a truck reduces it's value. I can think of a few that don't; canopy, nicer AT stock size tires, some interior upgrades etc. But lift, wheels, bigger tires, custom paint, exterior accessories that are permanent ... absolutely.

 

Are you a prerunner or 4wd? That makes a big difference.

If it's 4wd you would want to steer clear from lifting the front 4"

You can always go back to stock

 

but thats the thing the lift is not perm so when shes ready to resell she can change it to stock or to her old lift and same goes for wheels and tires. and from her profile is new and unless she plans on selling it within the next year i dont see what the big deal is

 

If you're 2wd, you should be fine with a 4" lift and not have to worry about a cab mount chop. But if you are 4x4 then you will need to worry about your CV joints. I'm currently at 3.25" and I do not like the way my CV boots look and probably not good for the joints either. After a 2.5" lift, aftermarket UCA's are a must as well.

 

Do what you want, if it hurts the resale, then change back to stock. Just store the parts. I always do mods that I want, and use with the thought that I won't recoup my costs, but I will like my vehicle more. If you don't think it will be worth doing for just the enjoyment, then don't do it.

 

why not just put 33s on you're 2in lift? thats what im running looks really good i think

 

how do you make turns??

 

by turning the steering wheel only rubbing i have is at full lock

 

im still running the mud flaps and havent trimmed anything

 

Mine drives and handles fine with a 6". Resale? Don't know because I ain't selling it

 

As I mentioned in some other thread, I saw a completely stock TRD AC with 305/70/16 Toyo Open Country MT with the front mud flaps still on and no rub marks that I can see. The tires look like they've been on for at least 10K miles and I just don't know how they even parked in reverse without rubbing or turn for that matter.

 

ya i thought it was going to be bad but it only rubs at full lock in reverse and going forward and its not enough to bug me or to cut or remove anything only thing i have are wheel spacers because of my stock wheels.

 

how much rubbing under flex?

 

not sure i dont off road my truck only trails during hunting season.

 

Ok so since I DON'T want to sell mine and a 6 inch runs fine, I think a 4 inch would look perfect, for me! Being reminded that I can just remove the lift and tires if need be for a sell, helps me. Thank you! Do you guys think my idea would look great, or is it just me? I've had my truck for 7 months now, and can't wait to start doing what I really want to it.
