What rifle mounts are available for our trucks???

I want to keep one of my AR15's in my truck sometimes.... Whats available?

hmm, does anyone know the laws in new york about having a gun in your truck? or if i had it in my toolbox?

A license to possess a handgun serves also as a license to carry unless restricted. If there are no restrictions written on the license, the licensee is permitted to carry a handgun, loaded or unloaded, concealed, on or about his person. An applicant for a license to carry must be required to show, in addition to the requirement for possession, that "proper cause exists" for the issuance of such a license; for example, for target shooting, hunting, or self-defense. The license can be amended to include one or more additional or different handguns. The licensee is required to carry the license on his person at all times when carrying a handgun. Possession of any "loaded" rifle or shotgun in a vehicle is illegal. A loaded handgun may be carried in a vehicle by a properly licensed individual. ("Loaded" means loaded in magazine or chamber. A loaded handgun means one for which the person possesses ammunition.)

I do a lot of shooting and I ordered a toolbox for the back to keep guns in. It's too easy to smash a window and grab and go. It will take a little more time and effort to pry open a toolbox plus they are out of sight to begin with. Plus they will be up on the bed where they can be seen and a proper sight picture placed upon them.

 

I wont be leaving it in there, just to transport...

 

I just mounted a set of these in the rear window. You can push the ends between the headliner and plastic and its a nice strong fit. And you can still slide your window open.

How do those hold up while driving around on the lease? Do your scoped rifles ever bump each other or slide around?

 

Sorry I don't do much rifle hunting anymore.....I carry shotguns during dove & quail season mainly. But for my over & unders it works great

I got them from etrailer.com but LOTS of places sell them...Cabela's, Sportsman's Guide etc......just Google seat back gun rack and you'll get a lot of shopping results.
