You guys think a 8,500 lb winch is enough for our trucks?

 

They say to do it properly that you want to do 2.5 times the weight of the truck. 8500 is border line, 9500 would be better.

 

That's nice, i'm going to try and stick to the plan of finding a 1st gen 4runner with sas over the winter.
I wouldn't want ot beat on a decent FJ.

If you're smart about how you use it, it should be more than enough. If you're really stuck, just do a 2 line pull to ease up on the tension the winch sees.

I agree with Rob though, bigger would be better.

 

For the price your paying . I wouldn't worry about it . Shit I'll buy the winch if you don't want it .

The guy decided he doesn't wanna sell it now. But they are selling the same one on Amazon for $230. Its normally $300, i might grab it and get a snatch block

 

What winch are you looking at? Check the reviews over on pirate4x4.com I would only go with a Superwinch (leave the control box alone) or Warn.

He would need to move the box into the engine bay . Not enough room with that bumper .

 

Superwinch 8500 lp. I mean i would like to get a 10,000 lb winch with a wireless remote and synthetic line but that would be overkill for the amount i will use it.

 

I know, same thing with mine and denis. We are both having problems with them once we disassembled the boxes.

 

We are getting bonuses today at work! We had a profit of $100,000 this quarter, so the owner has decided to take 10% of pre-tax earnings each quarter, give 5% (half) to the 401K's and the other 5% split amongst 12-14 employees based on a quality and effort system! Fucking awesomeness!!! So if we get $250,000 profit next quarter (which we are lined up to be doing) that means $12,500 split to the employees. Nice bit of padding on the paycheck! Luckily the bonus for this quarter is coming this week. I need to pay my bills badly
