That is not true. If you hit the specs that way it is luck. Constant challenges from other drivers about the lights is not because they are extra bright but because they are not adjusted properly. Even the brightest of the brightest bulb will not offend if the lights are adjusted properly.
There are machines that set the alignment to specs. Many states require it for inspection. Texas used to but about 10 years ago done away with that part of the inspection.
Here is a picture of one.

Yes it is true, machine does the same thing but instead of 25 feet its more like 3

I've driven behind my girlfriend and she hates my fog lights. Says they are the problem. FWIW

I would wager that if you took it to a professional with a machine your lights would need to be adjusted.

Nope, mine are factory set :p

I work auto parts and have never seen a headlight machine in a shop, not even the dealership body shop my mother worked at

Of course there are other factors too, based on type of headlamp and what not

    http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html

And like a few said its probably your fog lights, cover your headlights and turn the foglights on and see where the light spread it. They are probably pointing up a little right in the faces of car drivers. Truck lights always seemed bright when I had a car

This happens to me all the time, people flipping their rear view mirrors in fury when i'm behind them. Then when they are oncoming and flash me, I flash them back with my actual high beams and carry on

I get flashed from time to time, I think its from my rear end sitting a little lower than the front. Only really happens when going down hill on unlit roads though.

I used to get flashed a lot with stock setup. I solved this problem by putting on an Elite plate bumper with a winch in it. :D Front settled about a .5".
Once I get my lift I'm sure I will be doing some adjustments.

    Hey FU pal !

    Total bullshit.

You know how I know and can prove that to be 100% incorrect?

Because I have driven on mountains and hills.

Assholes with extra bright lights are indeed assholes no matter how you try and "adjust it".

Post the computer printout before and after when you get this done.

I do sometimes, mostly when hauling or towing something kinda heavy and the rear is sagging.

Only way I'm taking that wager is if you're paying. Here's the excerpt from Toyota's FSM on headlight aiming. Notice there is NO reference to some fancy machine...

Like I said, simple geometry, not rocket science. All that machine does is make it so you don't have to be 25' away from a wall, nothing more. If you think it is doing something else, then I've got some headlight fluid made from snake oil and unicorn blood that you really have to try! I'll sell it do you cheap

I have the Osram 70-65w bulbs which are even brighter than stock and I don't get flashed very often. I adjusted them using the method on the link above on Daniel Stern's website. When I bought my truck, the factory had the headlights pointing at the stars and aimed left.

Yes, occasionally. If it's happening multiple times in one drive, something is wrong. If you are running fogs with low beams, that is almost certainly the problem. There is A LOT of glare off the stock fogs.

Also, even the best headlight with the best cutoff on it is going to blind approaching traffic when traveling over a rise in the road. If you have brighter than stock bulbs, that will make it much worse. My understanding is that European laws are different and require an auto leveling system to deal with this on HID equipped vehicles, something the US needs to implement. A stock Benz or BMW produces excessive, unsafe glare when coming up over a rise in the road, IMO.

Of course they would say that. The 'professionals' have to justify the existence of their 'profession' somehow.
