    Adam:
Bought the White Oak today. The lumber shop will also mill the wood for me. Cost was right around $50, which I thought was not bad since they are doing the milling. All I need to do is drill holes in the wood for the bolts, sand and stain.

I may have to go to a shop to get the stain. I did not see what I wanted on the Website you gave me. They had the clear varnish but I sort of want to stain it cherry. If I am reading the instructions for the stain correctly all I need to do is sand, stain, sand again then put on a final coat of stain. I do not need to put on an additional protective finish.

I believe I have enough spray paint to do the job so for about $90 I will have a refurbished bench that will be better than new. The old wood was red oak, not that good for an outdoor application.

Yea, Vancouver is always a great place to visit

Vancouver just got the nickname "Drug Central of North America" by accident right

Hows the AIDs/HIV infection ratio for citizens of Vancouver?

Hows the mental illness ratio for the citizens of Vancouver?

We may murder more people in Philly, but all be damned if we have the drug, crazy people, HIV, riot, or homeless issue's your city has.

    Green mold or white stuff?

Your IG unit is either leaking or ran out of desiccant. Not a big deal and your not loosing much efficiency from it. If the looks of it don't bother you don't worry about it.

Going to get the bench iron cleaned and painted this weekend. Pick up the wood on Tuesday and get started with that. If the stain gets here by Thursday I should have the project completed by Sunday or Monday.

Takes a while for stain and the varnish to dry.

White stuff...kinda looks like a hard water stain but its inbetween the panes. The landlords have been telling me they'll replace it but that hasn't happened. It does bug me because that's the window that looks out over the mountains.

    Good to hear.
I'm grilling up a steak for dinner - it was supposed to be last night's dinner but it was so cold when I got off of work I didn't want to go back outside for ANYTHING!!
Did you order the recall parts for your BBQ? I got mine but I haven't had time to install them. Maybe that would be a good project for me this weekend.

Today is going good - finally starting to see the end of my big project - for the time being anyways. I'm sure after the architect, engineer, contractor and steel guy get done with them they will be a mess.

    First time for everything right?
