    that all depends on your factory gearing if you are 4.10 factory that's correct. im auto and im 4.88 is perfect for my 35's..

    Hmm, yeah I'm 4:10 stock. So you're running 4:88's with 35's? How is it on the road?

    I guess that means if you go with 4.88s now you'll be set for when you go to 35s...

    I would point out that neither you nor I have a supcrcharger either...

    Brady, bring out the numbers..

    4.88s are best for 33s and an auto.

    Great for 35s and a manual

    5.29s match autos better for 35s and 37s on manuals.

    Has to do with the gears ratios of the trannys. The AT overdrive is super tall. You'll still hunt for gears on the high way with 4.88s and 35s.

    Hmm, okay. It just sounds like 5:29's would be really low gearing for going 70mph on the highway.

    also depends on what generation taco you are.. brady and i are both auto. he needs 4.88 for 33's and i need 4.88 for 35's but mark was 4.56 factory gears so he need 5.29 for 35's is simple what was your factory gearing like i said in my first statement..

    Would be with 33s probably. No so bad with 35s.

    Also there is a big misconception that lower rpms mean less mpgs. It doesn't since the load is decreased on the motor.

    Only reason mark need 5.29s is because his drive train is 4cyl and auto transmission.

    Hs nothing to do with your stock gearing. All about the drive train.

    Konsta has an S/C so that helps a lot on road and as you know the auto tranny is already pretty awesome offroad so the difference between 4.88's and 5.29's for 35's would be almost negligible really. Of course the 5.29's are going to be more nicer offroad they aren't necessary. If you want proof of that just go crawling in 4Hi. It's still really easy to do, you just have to push the throttle a little more. haha

    I run 4.88's with my 33's and pretty much everyone will tell you that is overkill but I love it and think it feel great. Wish I could go to 5.29's really, although that might suck at 75 mph on 33's for a 2nd gen.

    2nd gens don't need 4.88's 33's. It's overkill really. For me it is just planning ahead for 37's.

    How does it make since for me to run 3.73's for 31's and you to run 4.10's for 31's, and then we both run the same gears but you have a bigger tire than me?... It doesn't. I should have a bigger tire still. The catch is your S/C helps you out on road and the auto helps you out off road.

    2nd, I just meant suspension wise. haha Granted he is probably linked and running I-beams up front or some shit. haha Not sure just how fast he can tear out across the trails but you can hit 110. From what I have seen a lot of the Trophy trucks run about 100 mph typically because of corners, sure he'll take you on a straight away, but if there are lots of turns and such to slow those ponies down then you think you could hold with him better?
