I got this 2001 4x4 in 2010 with 144k on it and now I have about 174k. I want to keep this thing forever so here's to hoping it sees the 500k mark ;)

Just bought my tacoma and joined the forums. Good to see there are many here with lots of miles and still going strong.

I'm sitting at 267 with plenty of life left.

I thought my '96 2.4 was high mileage at 278K. If someone had a Taco with 460K, I would've bet it was a 4 cyl.

It runs now just as strong as it did when new, the upgraded pulley makes a huge differance and your best bang for the buck over anyother upgrade. But the trd supercharger needs to be rebuilt after about 150,000 miles or so, I had a big problem with the truck missing and studdering for about a year and had 2 toyota shops try and fix the problem. They told me
what was wrong was the supercharger was causing the engine problem,
Come to find out the coils, coil packs, were going bad but no engine light was coming on and they cant be tested under a load to see if they were going out. I spent atleast 500 on trying to fix and replace and cleaning carbon from the lines, etc and all it was, was bad coils, now its running great except for some oil leaks and will need a new transmission soon,

What was your clue on this? I have 183K miles on my 1997 SR5 which has been supercharged since 17K miles. It seems to run great, makes boost like it ought to, etc. I don't hear any crazy noises or anything, either. Maybe I've gotten used to them?

i have the early trd superchager, and the book says the change the oil in it at 100,000.
But to do that you have to take the charger off the engine because the drain plug is under the charger. I never got around to that, so maybe thats why the bears start
to make noise around 150,000, either way, to have the charger rebuilt its not that expensive around 800.00, but I figure its better to rebuild it instead of it coming apart
And having to deal with other problems, magnum i think the name is in Cal did my rebuilds, but I dont think they do it any more for the 1gen trds, so not sure who does these rebuilds, Im sure someone does out there.

I know its not a Tacoma but I currently have 203,000 on my 2000 Celica. Truth be told though I've thought about getting rid of it for a 1st gen Tacoma 4x4 so Maybe I will be able to add a Tacoma in the to this list in the near future.
