    83 in first gear!:eek: What the hell was the ratio of that gear?

    Actually seems crazy, but I figure it was around 3.2-3.25... haha Wild!

    I did the math (used the calculator) and I guess with 35's and my 4.88's I could do about 74 mph in 1st gear it I could hit 12K rpm. I can do 33 mph with 35's and 5500rpm.

    Whatever a 911 is stock, I dunno. They are capable of stoopid amounts of power with a little boost. I never dynoed mine, but you could stomp on it at 60mph and do wheelies. It was in a short chassis too. You had to use the steering brakes because the front tires were always lofting. Used a lot of gas, was louder than an F-14, but she would run like a raped ape. Keep in mind this motor is lighter than the 1GR-FE.

    That's pretty gnarly!! I wanna see what the torque numbers were as well as the RPM they were making that 1600 HP at. It's easy-ish to make that much HP at those really high rpm. That's what I think makes those 1000 and 2000HP diesels so impressive because they typically do it at under 4000 rpm. That means they are putting down more torque than HP! Anything over 5252 RPM is putting down more ponies than torque at that point.

    In 1991, the rotary engine was used in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Endurance Race for the first time. The engine used was a R26B 4 rotor engine (2.6 L) producing 700hp and 448 ft. lb. of torque and spinning up to 9,000 rpm. It was the first Japanese car to ever win this race and beat the competition so badly that the wankel rotary engine was subsequently banned from this race. HP and no torque works. Look at nitro drag racers. Not many diesels can compete with those dudes.

    Rotaries=no torque

    Unless your at 8000 rpm...then it's there for a a second..and gone again..

    ^x2, even the diesels at the top of the game can't roll with the nitro rails.

    all in the use of the motor. For our trucks, dumb... for drags and other applications like the 787b good idea :D

    Yeah, I'm sure that stems from the fact that they are so much lighter than a diesel as well. Have much better power to weight ratio. Rotaries are like a 2 stroke engine right? By 2 stroke I mean they don't have an empty cylinder pump (the exhaust stroke of the 4 stroke). They are just go, go, go right?
